Valerie Jarrett 'was the architect of Obama's handling of the shutdown as she was the one to tell him not to negotiate'

Republicans have largely been blamed for the ongoing government shut down but a new theory points the finger at President Obama's longtime advisor Valerie Jarrett.
Author Ed Klein believes that Jarrett was the 'architect' of the approach that President Obama has taken with the budget battle.
The New York Post reports that Klein says that it was during a late-night strategy session that Jarrett held with the President in the residence where they came up the idea that he would not negotiate.
Game plan: Valerie Jarrett was reportedly the one who suggested President Obama refuse to negotiate with the Republicans in Congress, telling him to use words like 'hostage' and 'terrorist'
'It was during one of those nightly sessions that Jarrett devised the no-negotiating strategy that Obama has employed in his fight with the GOP over the government shutdown,' Klein told the paper.
'She convinced the president that a government shutdown and default offered a great opportunity to demonize the Republicans and help the Democrats win back a majority in the House of Representatives in 2014.
'Valerie also came with the idea of using the words "hostage", and "ransom," and "terrorists" against the Republicans.’
Jarrett is reportedly called 'the Night Stalker' due to her high access that allows her to go to the first family's private residence well past the time when others are allowed in.
In cahoots: Jarrett has been a family friend since before Michelle and Barack were married (seen here in 2009)
She has been extremely close with the Obamas since their days living in Chicago.
She used to work for the city's mayor, Bill Daley, and she hired Michelle when she was engaged to the future president.
Jarrett officially holds the title as Senior Advisor to the President, so her influence in the shutdown playbook comes as little surprise.
Still going on: The shutdown is now on its 16th day
Klein previously wrote a book in 2012 called The Amatuer about President Obama's time in the White House and his new findings come as he prepares to launch a second book on the administration.
'The Republicans walked into a trap set up by Valerie Jarrett and President Obama, The Republicans are in an untenable position,' Klein said.
The shutdown has entered its 16th day on Wednesday and the next looming problem comes as there has been no agreement on whether or not to raise the debt ceiling before the Wednesday night deadline.
