When Katie Holmes created her fashion label she had no intention of making it edgy or the hottest trend.

Instead, she wanted timeless classy ensembles that featured 'heirloom' pieces.

Someone forgot to tell Rihanna that.

There is no doubt the actress and her design partner Jeanne Yang probably did not picture the signer - known for her cutting edge but controversial look - as their target customer.

But that was not stopping the 25-year-old S&M singer stepping out in Sydney, Australia this weekend in head-to-toe Holmes & Yang.

The star turned the simple classic pieces into a show stopping look as she finished dinner on Friday night at the famous Bondi Icebergs.

The star combined a matching light suede motorcycle jacket with a pair of relaxed fit cropped suede trousers from the luxury line.

Not enough: While the 25-year-old made the look edgy by combining the two pieces, she added some shock value cheekily shoving her hand in her pocket pulling down the pant's waistband and showing off her black underwear

While matching, Katie did not design the pieces to be worn at the same time - going as far as to style them separately in the labels' lookbook - but yet RiRi donned the top and the trousers with no other clothing, ensuring she not only matched, but also showed off her flat stomach.

Not content with the midriff flashing being edgy enough, the singer made sure to cheekily shove her hand in her pocket, pulling down the trousers' waistband and showing off her black underwear.

On a matching kick, the star accessorised with tan nails, gold sunglasses - worn at night of course - gold on trend single strapped heels and big gold earrings.

However, while Katie may have not had the world's edgiest pop star in mind when she designed the tailored yet relaxed pieces, she certainly did not have the average woman in mind either.

The ensemble came with a very prohibitive price tag, with the jacket costing $2400 and the trousers retailing at $1850.

Katie - who is rumored to be dating actor Jamie Foxx, and is the former wife of Tom Cruise - may not have priced the range for real women, but said she Jeanne designed the range with real women in mind.

She told W Magazine when launching the label: 'We’re really concerned with what flatters - the pants are high-waisted - and we’re inspired by our friends, who are real women, they have real bodies.'

The outfit is a bit yuk! She needed it in a different colour for us to appreciate it as it matches her skin tone. Katie doesn't have the best style sense i think.
