No one can accuse Russell Brand of neglecting his fans if this recent scene is anything to go by.

The comedian was seen greeting a young devotee who was hoping at a chance meeting with the star on the steps of the Hotel Du Vin in Glasgow's plush West End.

The 38-year-old was in town for his gig on Friday as part of this Messiah Complex World Tour, which finishes in April.

Russell, who first gained notoriety on Big Brother's Big Mouth, looked pleased to meet 17-year-old Chelsea Cornelius prior to his show.

He greeted her with a massive hug before kissing her on the cheek, much to her delight, before walking into the large venue.

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall actor, who is known for his unusual dress sense, certainly didn't disappoint with his latest casual look.

Russell sported an entirely black outfit in a short, shiny jacket, large harem style trousers and dark sunglasses.

While accessorizing with a cross-print scarf, it was the star's strange, yet comfy, choice of footwear that really turned heads.

Wearing what looked like a pair of slippers, Russell's feet must have been kept nice and toasty as he stepped out in the northern city from the hotel, which is a top choice for A-list celebrities.

Showing his enthusiasm while attempting to drum up some ticket sales, he tweeted: 'Glasgow tomorrow #MessiahComplex you can come!'

Earlier this week it was reported that he had shelled out a hefty $2.224 million for an extravagant mansion in the Hollywood Hills.

The funnyman will be moving into a sprawling restored property originally built in 1926 - which the LA Times has said once belonged to Laurence Olivier - to mark his first real estate shift since his divorce from Katy Perry.

People like to make fun of him, i used to be that way until i heard him talk. He's really intelligent and romantic. I went from thinking he was a joke, to actually being attracted to him.
