Ashley Benson plays the popular girl at school while co-star Lucy Hale is the the more alternative character in the hit show Pretty Little Liars.

But it was a case of role reversal on Tuesday night.

Ashley, 23, was edgy in leather trousers while Lucy, 24, displayed her legs in a lace dress at a screening of a special Halloween episode of the television series at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.

Ashley paired her skintight trousers with black boots, a leather jacket and black-and-yellow floral scarf.

The Spring Breakers star wore her blonde hair in loose waves over her shoulder and sported heavy black eyeliner.

She posed excitedly with her co-stars, including Lucy and Sean Faris.

Lucy, meanwhile, dressed appropriately for the Halloween theme in a lacy black dress that showed off her slender legs.

The actress wore unusual peep-toe heels and a shark tooth necklace.

The brunette wore her glossy hair in glamorous curls over her shoulder and added a vampish touch with crimson lips.

Pretty Little Liars has been confirmed for a fifth season, and Ashley will also soon be joining her Spring Breakers co-star Vanessa Hudgens to voice forthcoming animation film The Great Migration.

Vanessa's showbiz 'bestie' Ashley Tisdale will also provide a voice for the teen-friendly film, which tells the story of 'a group of characters that encounter a mutated predator threatening to destroy the balance of their environment'.

The movie, produced by the newly formed CMI Entertainment, will go into production on November 1.
