They were hoping to meet up in secret and talk things over until the early hours of the morning.

But while Nicole Scherzigner and Lewis Hamilton may have managed a seven hour catch up, the secrecy of their meeting was blown after the F1 driver was spotted standing in the street outside a hotel where the pair were spotted arriving early that evening.

Lewis was caught following his secret tryst with the X Factor judge waiting in the street with his pet pooch after his car rather inconveniently broke down in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The 28-year-old was seen standing by his car, cradling his dog Roscoe as his driver attempted to get him back on the road.

After initially trying to get the vehicle going with jump leads and another vehicle, the group gave in and called a mechanic who swiftly arrived to deal with the problem.

According to The Sun 35-year-old Nicole and Lewis were spotted arriving at a London hotel within minutes of each other on Monday.

It’s thought the racing driver persuaded his on/off girlfriend to take time off from her schedule after flying into the UK to try and win her back.

A friend of the couple told the paper: ‘There’s something that keeps pulling them back together, it’s as if they can’t resist each other.’

They continued: ‘They were determined to keep the meeting under wraps, which is why they chose a hotel that isn’t used much by celebrities.

‘Nicole will be livid Lewis’ car broke down because that’s what meant their cover was blown. He had to get out to the mechanic sort the issue.’

The couple ended their five year relationship in July of this year blaming their conflicting busy work schedules.

Nicole has mostly remained strong since then although she was particularly emotional during a number of the X Factor auditions, which many believed was due to her heartbreak.

Since their meeting it has business as usual for the beautiful star, working hard mentoring her three girls and taking part in various aspects of promotion for the show.

On Wednesday evening Nicole made sure she stole the show when she filmed an X Factor special of Celebrity Juice, which airs on Thursday evening.

She slipped into a skintight leather dress which fell to just below her knees and showed off her figure perfectly.

Her long hair fell in loose waves down her back, while her make-up was particularly vampy for the occasion.

A spokesperson for Nicole has been contacted for comment.
