She is the master of self-publicity.

But now, Kim Kardashian has found herself at the receiving end of a large amount of negative criticism from fans after posting her revealing 'selfie' of her post-baby body in a white swimsuit yesterday.

The picture sent shock waves through social media, with the MailOnline receiving a staggering 3,163 comments so far about the picture, with many feeling that it was 'inappropriate' behavior from new mother Kim.

One Twitter user named Lauren wrote: 'Kim Kardashian you are a MOTHER now I don't think posting pictures of your ass on Instagram is appropriate'.

Worse still, Radar reports that Kim received messages from users calling her 'nasty', 'disgusting', and looking 'nauseatingly huge'.

There were also complaints of Kim and Kanye being 'obsessed with themselves' and Kim's behaviour to be a bad example for their daughter North.

Comedienne Jenny Johnson, who is known for dislike of the Kardashians and Chris Brown, re-tweeted Kim's post with the sarcastic comment. 'You're an amazing mom.'

Twitter user Lindsey also poked fun, writing: 'Smh @ Kim Kardashian's latest selfie. Put on some mom jeans and go feed Compas.'

But while Kim's tweet didn't go down too well with her fans, it certainly had the right effect with Kanye West, the father of her baby daughter North.

Re-posting the snap on his Twitter page, he wrote: 'HEADING HOME NOW.'

The picture showed off the amazing results of Kim's new weight loss, helped by the Atkins diet.

'I've actually been doing the Atkins diet & luv it,' she confessed recently. 'She is eating lots of lean proteins, healthy fats like nuts and avocado, carbs, fruits, veggies and cheese,' a rep for Atkins says.

'She wanted to be a healthy, nursing mom and not toxify her milk with her diet or lose weight too quickly. She's been doing Atkins since her doctor approved it at the end of June.'

The reality star - who UsWeekly reported in August has lost 30 pounds since delivering her baby - was criticized on tabloid covers in the spring for ballooning up to 200 pounds while she was pregnant with Kanye West's baby North, born in June.

In March she addressed all the weight talk on Extra.

'There are maybe two or three covers just this week that say I am 200 pounds,' she said.

'I'm like, "You are 60 pounds off here.'

Meanwhile, 32-year-old Kim has been reportedly working on a range of children's clothes and is worried about her boyfriend Kanye West's interference with the range.

An insider told Radar: 'He opened doors for her where they were once shut, which is great, but now he's giving her his two cents on everything and it's driving Kim crazy. '

'The truth of the matter is he doesn't think Kim has good style and he knows whatever she produces will be a direct reflection on him. He doesn't trust her to do her own thing.'

Kim - who has three-month-old daughter North with the rapper - was catapulted into the spotlight with her reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but her boyfriend is hoping to re-imagine her as a fashion designer.

The source continued: 'Kanye encouraged her to pursue her own baby clothes line.

'He thought it was a great way for her to be taken a little more seriously and cut the cord with her family.

He wants her to establish a new career away from reality TV and this is how they think she can do it.'

I'm a woman who works hard for my shape and to have a little bit of a bum- flat is not attractive- but note, I said A LITTLE BIT! I don't know why Kim thinks a gigantic hippo attached to her rear is appealing. *barf

Sorry, but how is she different to other celebs?? It's a swimsuit, aren't mothers allowed to wear them? She is posing and showing off yes, no different to before she had her baby. Don't really see how it is inappropriate a or what difference being a mother makes. Miley Cyrus (ok who isn't a mother) is far more inappropriate and self absorbed than Kim, and that must take some doing.
