Sofia Vergara the teen mom: Modern Family star shares picture of son's first Halloween in Colombia

Sitting surrounded in children, barefoot and and holding her baby, a teenaged Sofia Vergara could not have imagined how different her life would be today.

Fast forward 22 years and the now mega star is showing off the picture of that Halloween night in Colombia to her more than 5.2 million online fans.

The 41-year-old actress posted her favourite Halloween photo on WhoSay on Tuesday, showing her 19-year-old self cradling her then tiny son Manolo Gonzalez-Ripoll Vergara.


The Modern Family star captioned the flashback photo: '22 years ago in Barranquilla !!!Manolo's first Holloweeeen! He was one month old.'

The photograph was taken in her home town Barranquilla, where she had married her high school sweetheart just the year before having her first son in 1992.

Sofia looked just like a baby herself in the old photograph, with her youthful face making it hard to distinguish her from the costumed children around her.

While the star is now famed for her curves, at the time she was just a tall skinny 19-year-old with her simple cotton dress swapping her slender frame.

Sitting in a capsule on his mother's lap, baby Manolo was dressed up in the spirit of the spooky holiday.

For his first Halloween Sofia dressed the little baby up as a clown complete with a pointed hat.

Manolo's father and Sofia split a year after the photograph was taken and the aspiring model became a single mother.

Mother and son are particularly close and it was revealed earlier this month that their relationship will provide the inspiration for a new ABC sitcom - the same network as Modern Family.

Currently in development, according to Deadline Raising Mom will look at how a mother and son fair after the close knit pair try to gain independence from each other.

The comedy will be directed by Modern Family's Gail Mancuso and written by Raising Hope's writer Christine Zander.

Wouldnt have recognized her. She looks a lot more au naturel in that photo. She probably has a lot more make up on now, that's all. But she looked better with less.
