Newly engaged Lauren Conrad enjoys a shopping trip in Hollywood but tries to keep her impressive engagement ring out of sight

She announced her engagement a week ago by sharing a picture of her diamond ring on her website.

But Lauren Conrad kept the bauble covered up as she enjoyed a shopping trip in Hollywood on Sunday.

The former Hills beauty was dressed down in skinny jeans, nude flats and a white sweater and pulled the sleeves down over her hand as she left the store with a shopping bag.

Lauren, who was joined by a female friendm carried a tan handbag and pulled her long blonde hair up on top of her head in a bun.

Last Sunday, the pretty blonde announced the happy news that she is set to wed her boyfriend of nearly two years to fans via her various social media accounts along with a photo of the impressive bauble.

'I am very excited to share with you guys that William and I got engaged over the weekend.
I am beyond thrilled!,' she wrote on her official website.

She captioned a picture of the ring on Instagram, ‘Best surprise ever.’

Lauren later thanked well-wishers for their kind words, writing, 'William and I are overwhelmed by all of your warm wishes. Thank you so much for sharing in this special moment :-) XO Lauren.'

'Thank you guys for all the sweet messages! It means so much to me :-) Feel like the luckiest girl in the world!' she also tweeted her more than three million followers.

The best-selling author has been dating law student Tell since 2012, when the two were set up by a mutual friend.

'I did not go with high hopes, though. What was nice about us is we both went in with preconceptions, but they were quickly broken,' Conrad told Allure magazine in 2012.

'He is very good for me because we have a lot in common as far as where we grew up. It’s the first time I’m with someone and I’m not explaining things,' the Laguna Beach star previously gushed about William.

'He also has experience in the entertainment industry, so he understands a lot of things that people don’t always get,' she told the July issue of America's Marie Claire magazine of the 33-year-old aspiring lawyer who used to be the guitarist for a band called Something Corporate.
