Nokia may have announced a 6-inch 1080p Windows Phone and a Windows RT tablet, but the company also has a handset that’s designed to be budget friendly. The Lumia 1320 might be twice the size of your wallet with a 6-inch display, but it drops the 1080p resolution found on the Lumia 1520 in favor of a 720p screen. The Verge got a chance to take a brief look at the Lumia 1320 today at Nokia World in Abu Dhabi, and it certainly looks impressive for a low-cost device.

The viewing angles of the 720p display are great, and it’s actually slightly difficult to tell the difference between the Lumia 1520 and 1320 displays from the typical viewing length. Once you get closer it’s clear it’s a 720p display. It’s a fairly standard Nokia Lumia Windows Phone, with the side-button arrangement of power, camera, and volume, and a camera at the rear and front. Nokia is using a 5-megapixel camera at the rear and a VGA at the front. That’s another drawback to this device over the Lumia 1520, as Nokia is including a 20-megapixel PureView camera on that particular device.

The most interesting part of this Lumia 1320 is the fact that you get three columns of Live Tiles on the Start Screen. While the Lumia 1520 at 1080p resolution includes this also, it’s clear that the arrangement is not resolution dependent and it’s related to the size of the screen. The improvements here also include larger versions of the built-in apps that are designed to take advantage of the screen. While Nokia is only shipping the Lumia 1320 with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, the Windows Phone user interface is still fast and lag-free on this device. We’ll have to wait on a full review unit to take an even closer look, but for just $339 it looks like a solid budget Lumia device.
