USA Track & Field is looking for an Elite Athlete Relations/Community Outreach intern for 10 - 12 weeks to assist with the following:

  • Assist in the planning of community outreach events
  • United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) relations
  • Administrative support including filing and mailings
  • Answer and fulfill elite athlete alumni call requests and activity planning
  • Coordinate distribution of athlete fan mail

Event/Venue Operations: Event Operations/Management
Events Manager - USA Track & Field (Indianapolis, IN)

BASIC FUNCTION: Assist the Events Department in the planning, managing and execution of Senior level (USA Track & Field Championships Series), masters level, and USATF’s Annual Meeting as principal event manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Build event RFP’s
• Assist Department Director in the negotiation of event contracts
• Serve as a liaison to several committees including Men’s TF, Women’s TF, Race Walk, and Officials
• Coordinate and lead Annual Meeting including items such as schedule, hotel, meeting plans, logistics, assisting with special event production, etc.
• Work closely with Travel Department on all event related housing/transportation
• Compile event settlements
• Event liaison with LOC’s and Games Committees
• Manage event budgets
• Point person for event operations and logistics of USA vs. the World at the Penn Relays
• Handle signage plans and coordinate logistics of signage and event related equipment delivery to USATFCS events.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor Degree
• Driver’s License
• Experience in Event Planning/Hotel Management
• Project Management Skills
• Good Communication Skills
• Ability to Multi-Task
• Proficiency with MS Office Software (Excel, Word and Outlook)
 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Long hours standing on feet.

Internet/New Media: Web Design/Development
Front End Web Developer - USA Track & Field (Indianapolis, IN)

JOB TITLE: Front End Web Developer

EXEMPTION STATUS: Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Operations

SUPERVISOR: Webmaster

DIRECT REPORTS: Internet Publishing Coordinator

BASIC FUNCTION: Devoted to keeping the USATF website updated and relevant.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Code templates and pages that align with intended design and functionality
• Work with each USATF department/program to add new content and update all areas of the website.
• Administer the Content Management System (CMS) for USATF.org and all subsidiary websites.
• Create and coordinate pre- and post-event coverage for National Championships and Team USA events, including posting of event information, photo galleries, video clips, and results.
• Work with Internet Applications Developer to determine programming needs to improve/maintain back-end functionality of website and to implement new projects.
• Migrate all content into the CMS and identify and eradicate inconsistencies with current crossover of content.
• Develop and implement ways to tie-in new applications to the website.
• Coordinate with volunteer segments of the organization, as well as the public, on website related issues, including content management and relevant updates.
• Ensure that all content complies with relevant policies, guidelines, and best practices.
• Manage the Internet Publishing Coordinator and work alongside the web team.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Journalism, IT preferred.
• 1-3 years' experience working on a professional website or in a related environment.
• Demonstrated familiarity and experience with Web editing software.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience with Kentico or other Content Management System preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt quickly to new tools.
• Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
• Strong team player and ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to work in a very fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work error free.
 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: None
 

NON-PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasional nights and weekends required; some travel may be required. Long hours of continuous concentration.
