'I was exhausted': Jenna Jameson chalks strange behaviour during interview up to tiredness as she signs copies of her book

Jenna Jameson became a hot topic of conversation after bizarre behaviour during a live television interview on Monday.

But the former porn star has now claimed that the slurring of her words was down to tiredness.

The 39-year-old appeared at a New York book signing on Tuesday where she was far more lucid while talking to reporters than she had seemed the previous day.

‘I was exhausted,’ she told TMZ when asked about her appearance on Good Morning New York, adding that it was a ‘very tiring’ day, and she is not taking prescription drugs.

There had been reports that Jenna’s interview was cut short as she was somewhat incoherent, but the adult movie star insisted on Tuesday that ‘it wasn’t’.

The blonde was photographed proudly holding up a copy of her novel, Sugar, while at a Barnes And Noble store.

She was dressed in a Seventies inspired zebra print jumpsuit and floral platform boots and slipped on a denim jacket and retro baby pink sunglasses before leaving the book shop.

While Jenna was allegedly booked to appear on two segments of the morning show, TMZ reports her behaviour was so worrying that producers decided to cut her off after just a few minutes.

Things started off fine for the business mogul, who began by explaining that her book Sugar is autobiographical and insisted it is much raunchier than sadomasochistic tome 50 Shades of Grey.

‘It’s about me,’ she explained. ‘Well I didn’t want it to be exactly what I’ve always done so I made up a fantastic yummy story.’

However, Jenna – who has been accused of having an addiction to Oxycontin by her former boyfriend Tito Ortiz – appeared distracted during the brief interview.

She gave brief, vague answers during the slot before it was abruptly ended.

She was repeatedly asked about her porn career and insisted she was happy with it denying she was ever abused like famous adult film actress Linda Lovelace was.

The mother of two said, ‘I was very young, 19. I just figured it would be fun and it was fun.

‘Listen, whatever she [Lovelace] had to say I seem to think that it was bull. I made my whole entire life was taken care of and I made a lot of money. I was always really good at being monogamous, while I was working.’

While she has recently launched a number of Twitter rants against Tito, who is the father of her twins boys Journey and Jess, Jenna insisted vaguely, ‘Everything’s going well, it’s going OK.’

However, pals of the porn star are said to be concerned for her welfare and have apparently tried to get her to go to rehab to get treated for her dependency on powerful painkiller Oxycontin, also know as hillbilly heroin.

A source close to Jenna told Popdust: 'Jenna is struggling with an addiction to Oxycontin.

'She is a complete mess right now and is barely holding it together. All of her friends have tried to talk her into going to rehab to get treatment but she is in complete denial about her problem.'
