The 55th. Coupe Aeronautique Gordon Bennett is over. In today's pricegiving and closing ceremony the brave pilots were honoured.

Jonathan TRAPPE devrait décoller ce samedi en fin d'après-midi à bord de son Cluster balloon.
Départ de la Course Aéronautique Gordon Bennett prévu ce soir samedi sur l'aérodrome de Gap-Tallard vers 22.00.
Les tendances météo devraient faire partir les pilotes vers le Nord-Est, donc pas de maillots de bain à emporter. La Pologne devrait être un axe de vol privilégié
Demain matin dimanche sur ce même aérodrome et à 7.00, les 12 montgolfières décolleront pour égayer le ciel alpin
The launch of 55th Gordon Bennett Air Race will take place in Gap-Tallard in the Hautes Alpes on September 10th and 11th 2011.
105 years after the first race which took off from the Tuileries Gardens in front of 100 000 spectators, Gap-Tallard will, for the first time ever, host the the oldest air race in the world, the famous Gordon Bennett Cup in Ballooning. It seems only natural that this Mecca of air sports, should add ballooning to its catalogue.
One can only imagine what this flight of balloons will be like: taking off at night for an unknown destination, lit by a full moon, with the Alps and the Tallard Castle as a backdrop.
Our motto is "To Fly, to Dream, to be Free", come and share it with us....

The festivities surrounding this event will be based on all aspects of Ballooning, paying tribute to the Montgolfier brothers (Montgolfier balloon) and to Jacques Charles (Charliere balloon)
The Festival organised around this tribute will include all the different forms of Air Sport: Skydiving, Gliding, Paragliding, Helicopters, Motor Flying, Model Aircraft and, of course, Montgolfiere ballooning and will remind some of you of the crazy days of the "Mondial de l'Air".
Get ready for these festivities,.. the programme is growing from day to day, there will be something for everyone, for all ages and for all tastes.

Cluster Balloon
Grâce à l'invitation de France 5, nous aurons le plaisir de recevoir Jonathan Trappe, lors de cette édition de la Gordon Bennett. De quoi se rapprocher encore plus du rêve d'Icare "voler le plus simplement possible".
L'envol de Jonathan s'effectuera en fin d'après-midi du samedi et vous pourrez assister à tous ses préparatifs minutieux.
