Finally something to smile about: Kanye West appears chipper after announcing engagement to Kim Kardashian...and even lets out an unfamiliar grin!

Kanye West is well-known for his moody, pouty and frankly expressionless face.

So it was very unexpected when he appeared with a little grin on his first appearance since announcing his engagement to Kim Kardashian, 33, on Monday.

Kanye, 36, appeared in a grey sweatshirt, grey jeans and a pair of tan Aztec boots, whilst holding his mobile phone in hand and holding up a peace sign.

Kanye did not revel in the media attention, like Kim, during her pregnancy, often snapping at photographers and generally looking miserable.

But all seems to have changed in his attitude now that he has 'put a ring on it,' appearing more laid back and relaxed despite juggling his personal life as well as a world tour - even performing the day after proposing to Kim on her birthday in the middle of San Francisco Stadium.

He seriously impressed the reality TV star when he presented her with a 15-carat diamond ring, The Lorraine Schwartz, estimated to be worth more than $1.6m.

When he popped the question, Kim told E! on Tuesday that she is 'the luckiest girl in the world,' in her first statement since her 36-year-old beau popped the questioned.

'Last night was truly magical!!! I am the luckiest girl in the world!' the reality star said. 'I get to marry my best friend!'

The rapper hired out the AT&T Park in San Francisco to propose to the mother of his child North in front of friends and family.

Not one for the subtle gesture, Kanye proceeded to serenade the half-Armenian beauty with a 50 piece orchestra.

The band struck up the ballad Young And Beautiful from film The Great Gatsby by songstress Lana Del Rey, followed by his own hit with Keri Hilson and Ne-Yo, Knock You Down.

According to RadarOnline, he may have chosen the venue because it's where his idol Barry Bonds hit his record-breaking 756th homerun.

But straight back to business, Kanye has been performing at the SAP Centre in San Jose, California on Tuesday, ahead of his gig on Wednesday at the Oracle Arena, in Oakland, California and even has two more to perform this week.

However the pair must fit in some time for discussion as they have yet to announce the matter of a prenuptial agreement.

Unlike Kardashian’s last marriage, she is not the top earner in the relationship, worth just $40 million to Kanye’s $100 million.

Online bookmaker Paddy Power puts the odds on Kimye’s marriage lasting less than two years at 2-1.

That might be due to the fact her first marriage to record producer Damon Thomas, lasted four years, and her second to former Brooklyn Net Kris Humphries, ended in just 72 days.

'This is not the mother of all prenups, but it’s going to have to be pretty close,' celebrity divorce lawyer Raoul Felder told the Daily News, who managed the splits of former Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Martin Scorsese.

'They both have careers that could become more valuable, and each one could claim the other one helped their career.'

Any signs of change in him can only be attributed to his advisors (Team Kanye, and now for a spell, Kris and Kim). As soon as hid deal w/Kris n Kim is fulfilled (look like ur happy to be with Kim/Babu mama) he'll be able to show his true color again.

Has this become the new Kardashian trash magazine??? I quit reading some of the US magazines because the Kardashian trash news became the only thing they would write about. Sad to say that's what is happening to this magazine too. Guess I will have to move on again..... These people are trash, there is nothing further to write..... I'm sick of seeing them..... they do nothing, offer nothing and really are just FAT and STUPID people...
