She has been stripping off a record amount in recent weeks.

But Miley Cyrus finally covered up on Tuesday – and the results were sensational.

The singer looked gorgeous and demure in a floor-length gown that was swathed entirely in green sequins.

The mermaid style dress was backless however, as the 20-year-old apparently couldn’t resist showing some skin.

Miley was seen arriving at The Fashion Group International’s 30th Annual Night Of Stars Event in New York City.

The Wrecking Ball hit-maker hitched up her frock to make her way to the red carpet outside Cipriani’s Wall Street, revealing her black high-heeled sandals.

Miley wore turquoise eye shadow and shiny pink lip gloss to top of her look, while her blonde crop of hair was slicked back.

Miley appeared in great spirits despite seeming forlorn earlier in the day as she comes to terms with her split from fiance Liam Hemsworth.

Under a picture she posted of herself from a past photo shoot on her Instagram, the We Can't Stop star wrote: 'And I've never felt more alone It feels so scary getting old.'

The former Disney star held her own as she was joined by a host of fashion favourites at the event.

Kate Upton didn’t exactly flatter her amazing, bombshell figure in a tight knit burgundy dress that fell to her ankles, along with matching heeled brogues.

Doutzen Kroes followed suit with the knitwear in a black creation that fell to the floor but still left her legs, back and sides on show.

I am sorry but I do not agree, Miley does not look beautiful, that dress does not flatter her figure. She is much to skinny to wear a dress like that. It looks like a drape on her. Kate Upton now looks beautiful, she has a fantastic figure and the dress flatters her.

Miley simply is not a looker and is nothing to shout about in the vocal/song writing abilities. If it wasn't for her famous father she wouldn't even be given the time of day by any TV/record exec.

Miley has a gorgeous smile. When not trying to shock people with her tongue gag, she looks really sweet and fresh. Just maybe she's over that phase by now. We can only hope.
