They say music is the food of love, and so it proved on Wednesday evening when Ashley Tisdale stepped out with her doting fiancé Chris French.

Indeed, the couple were spotted as they made their way to the Hollywood Bowl – where singer Katy Perry was amongst an array of musical performers at the We Can Survive benefit gig.

Ashley looked typically stylish as she trailed behind her man at the event, which was thrown by 97.1 AMP Radio and Radio.com on behalf of the Young Survival Coalition, an organisation devoted to helping young women with breast cancer.

The 28-year-old actress opted for a loose fitting white shirt with a distinctive black collar, tastefully matching the monochrome top with a pair of black satin shorts and over-the-knee socks as she walked behind beanpole Chris, her eyes lowered to the pavement.

Ashley rounded off the outfit with a long jacket, also black, while her long locks were kept loose and naturally styled in keeping with a distinctly subdued look.

Chris – frontman with rock band Annie Automatic – also looked casual in a loose fitting grey sweater emblazoned with the legend ‘Hell Yeah,’ a pair of skinny jeans and scuffed hobnail boots.

The couple were entertained by an all-female bill at the event, with other performances coming from the likes of Ellie Goulding, Kacey Musgravee and Canadian duo Tegan And Sara.

Perry – the night’s biggest draw – was making her first live appearance following the release of new album Prism on Monday and made sure fans got a taste of her new material during a 60-minute set.

Later that night Ashley tweeted her delight at being present for the event, writing: 'had so much fun watching @katyperry @elliegoulding supporting Young Survival Coalition #wecansurvive.'

Stepping out the following day, Ashley appeared to be wearing the same shirt and jacket she had worn while taking in the blistering gig with fiancé Chris.

The High School Musical had swapped the shorts for a pair of ripped jeans, but the monochrome shirt was present and correct as they strolled arm in arm on Thursday afternoon.

Ashley started dating the tattooed singer after splitting last year from boyfriend Scott Speer, while Christopher was previously romantically linked to The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco.

The pair reportedly got engaged on top of New York's Empire State Building in August.
