Mommy's little superhero! January Jones's toddler Xander goes out for lunch dressed as Captain America

She may not have a man in her life at the moment, but January Jones does have a superhero!

Her little boy Xander proudly wore his blue Captain America hoody for lunch with his mother and a few friends in West Hollywood on Saturday.

The two-year-old smiled broadly as he ran in front of the Mad Men star, who kept a careful eye on her energetic son.

The superhero-in-training also wore grey trousers with dark grey lightning bolts and cute Ugg boots.

January, 35, was casually dressed in a dark green-and-black check shirt, dark blue jeans and comfy white trainers.

The blonde protected her eyes from the autumn sunshine in large sunglasses, her short blonde hair framing her face.

The star wore very little make up - just a splash of red lipstick that matched her nail varnish.

January often put a protective hand on Xander's head and shoulder to steer him in the right direction as they walked along the road. She finally picked up the rapidly tiring toddler as she walked back to the car.

The identity of Xander's father is still a mystery which January refuses to reveal.

'It's just not something the public needs to know,' the South Dakota native told Net-A-Porter's The Edit. 'I don't divulge my sexual preferences. There are parts of your life -- no matter what your job -- that should remain private.'

The blonde beauty, whose exes include Ashton Kutcher and Jason Sudeikis, was reportedly linked with Miley Cyrus' then fiance Liam Hemsworth in February, after the two were spotted leaving West Hollywood hotspot Chateau Marmont together - something Liam later denied.

Lack of a boyfriend isn't keeping January at home, though.

On Thursday she was at the Tennis Club de Paris in the French capital, to celebrate the launch of the much-anticipated Isabel Marant collection for H&M.

January looked fabulous in an outfit from the collection - printed cropped trousers with her black bra visible through apatterned, see-through white top.

Her long-running stint playing Betty Francis on the hit show Mad Men will come to an end next year.

The seventh, and last, season will be extended into 14 episodes split into two halves, with the first seven episodes airing early 2014 and the second set in early 2015.

This year she starred in historical drama Sweetwater with Ed Harris and Jason Isaacs set in the New Mexico Territory in the late 1800s.

The film played at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah in January and went on general release in the US on October 11. It was released on DVD in the UK on June 3
