They could be sisters! Christie Brinkley the model mom treats her gorgeous daughters to a shopping spree

She may be pushing 60 but it seems Christie Brinkley has found the fountain of youth.

The former Sports Illustrated model, 59, looked as though she could step right back on to the catwalk on Sunday as she and her daughters, Alexa Ray Joel, 27, and Sailor Brinkley Cook, 15, enjoyed some retail therapy in East Hampton, New York.

While it may have just been a casual day of shopping for the trio, the timeless beauty was hard to miss.

Christie was instantly recognisable as she flashed her trademark all America girl smile and wore her glossy blonde hair in soft waves - just like she has done since she first was discovered in a Post Office in the early Seventies.

While the fall weather meant the model had to wrap up in layers, her fantastic physique was still evident.

The 59-year-old kept her long legs warm in a pair of dark blue jeans and added a lighter denim jacket with a long sleeved navy shirt, a red tartan scarf and a pair of brown suede boots creating the perfect seasonal ensemble.

The former Sports Illustrated model did reveal one of her anti-aging secrets - exercise - as she stopped into cult sportswear label Lululemon to grab some new work out gear.

Never letting her smile leave her face, the star took her two daughter's and a friend for coffee before hitting the shops some more in the exclusive East Coast enclave.

Content to stroll behind their mother was Alexa and Sailor, whom could not look more different.

Alexa - who Christie had with second husband singer Billy Ray Joel - is dark with alabaster skin while 15-year-old Sailor - who's father is architect Peter Cook - is the spitting image of her mother.

The youngest of the model's three children - Christie also has a son Jack Brinkley Cook - has already started to follow in her mother's footsteps.

And, on Sunday it was not hard to see why, with the 15-year-old is already taller than her older sister and has her mother's long legs and golden blonde hair.

But sadly for Sailor, the fun day of shopping with her mother and sister did not end well, with the high schooler finishing the day in the ER.

The teen managed to hurt her knee and posted a picture of herself on Instagram in hospital.

The young girl was in a good mood despite the pain however, as she captioned the image: 'Hurt my left knee (got cretches) [sic] but that doesn't mean I can't be fab in the hospital.'

One thing I notice about Christie is that she is always smiling. She looks happy. I wonder how much of her pleasant attitude has to do with her healthy glowing appearance?
