'It broke up my family': Vick Gunvalson blames her divorce on the 'pressure' of Real Housewives

Her 16-year marriage to Donn Gunvalson ended in 2010.

And now Vicki Gunvalson is blaming The Real Housewives Of Orange County for causing the breakdown of their union.

The 51-year-old - who has appeared on eight seasons of the Bravo reality series - said she believed her family would still be together if it weren't for the show.

'I think that my family would still be together. There’s some really great things that have come from the show, but one of the downsides was that it broke up my family, and that’s tough to take,' she told Digital Spy.

The mother-of-two said the hit series put 'too much pressure' on her marriage to the insurance agent.

'I think the show had a lot to do with me getting divorced. I think it was too much pressure on a weak marriage. I wonder where Donn and I would be now if we didn’t do the show. But we elected to do the show together as a family. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for us,' she said.

Vicky also admitted that she considered quitting the show 'every year.'

'It's not easy to be judged, to be ridiculed, to be talked down to, to get nasty emails about: "You're ugly, you're this, you're too old, you're too fat, you're too skinny, you're too short,' she said.

But she returns because she believes she has a duty to her fans.

'I feel like I inspire a lot of people,' she said. 'My goal is to make the world a better place and to inspire people and to be a good provider for my family.

Since her divorce in 2010, Vicky hasn't had much luck in love.

She recently broke up with businessman Brooks Ayers, who was accused of being unfaithful to her.

But she was already on the look-out for a new man following their split in July.

'My love tank is empty again. Do you know anyone that would be good for me to date?' she told Radar Online.

That was the word that I thought of right away. She used her RHOC blog to advertise her insurance business...tacky. Hard to find a more controlling woman oblivious to what causes her problems...her. Donn was a super guy wish him the best.

I think these shows not only cause problems in the families of people in them, they set a terrible example of behavior....bringing out the worst in all parties. Society is getting increasingly rude and crude...I am not talking about profanity...I can swear as well as the next sailor...I am talking about people treating one smother badly for their 15 minutes...

She doesn't want to let her fans down and thinks shes an inspiration to many..... Oh the delusions of grandeur that befall so many of these reality show, five minute of fame, border line celebrities.

I'm assuming she's not really as obnoxious as she seems, even so I'm surprised that Donn put up with her as long as he did. She's a totally unpleasant person.

If she really felt that way, she should have bowed out and saved her marriage. She is so full of herself and out of control that it is pathetic to see her and listen to her irritating voice.
