Twirled lines! Doting dad Robin Thicke takes time off from twerking to help his son on a curly climbing frame

Robin Thicke may be best known for his controversial 'twerking' routine with Miley Cyrus, but on Thursday he was just another doting daddy taking his son to play in the park

The pair were spotted out in Beverly Hills, California, where the 36-year-old singer was helping little Julian negotiate some of the trickier things, like a twirly climbing frame.

The three-year-old was having a whale of a time as he ran around in the sunshine, kicking a soccer ball.

And his dad seemed to be enjoying himself too, smiling broadly as he kicked off his shoes to chase his precious little lad around. 

Father and son were both dressed in blue. Robin wore comfy, baggy blue jeans and a lighter blue, long-sleeved T-shirt, open at the neck  to reveal his chest and rolled up to his elbows. Aviator-style sunglasses shielded his eyes.

His little blonde looked chuffed in a long-sleeved Thomas the Tank T-shirt, paired with blue sweat trousers and sneakers.

Julian is the celebrity's son with his actress wife Paula Patton, 37. The couple started dating when Robin was 16 and they married in 2005.

Robin is now infamous for his sexy twerkin' dance with Miley at the MTV Video Music Awards where he sang his hit Blurred Lines in New York in August.

The track was the longest-running number-one single of 2013, having spent 12 weeks at the top before it was knocked off by Katy Perry's Roar.

But it was the controversial dance that caught everyone's attention - and now it's being widely parodied by the likes ot Paris Hilton, Hugh Heffner and Crystal Harris

On Thursday talk show hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strauan hopped on the Robin and Miley bandwagon for Halloween.

The pint-sized blonde and her 6ft 5in co-host opened their extravaganza for the spooky holiday recreating the two singers' infamous and controversial VMA performance.

This man will only ever be remembered for the catchy song and his 'performance' with Miley whilst dressed like a slightly sharper Beetlejuice. £100 says he doesn't hit the top 10 with a song again.
