Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s meta-disaster movie charts the fall-out after the apocalypse hits Hollywood and an Oscar ceremony’s worth of stars bunker down in James Franco’s house.
Innovative self-reflexive satire… Or a home movie made by multi-millionaires?
Either way, it’s true to its roots in the stoned pacing, frat-boy bad taste and frequent belly laughs.
It might be a one-joke movie, but it’s a good joke, and the illicit thrill of seeing pampered stars slaughtered in memorably gory set-pieces doesn’t wear off.
Well-stocked extras include bonus character ‘confessionals’ and the original short that inspired the movie.
