Courtney Stodden celebrates new-found freedom on night out in Hollywood with pals after confirming plans to divorce Doug

Many would would agree that divorce is an unpleasant experience.

But for Courtney Stodden, who confirmed her 'amicable' spit from husband Doug Hutchison on Tuesday, it's merely a walk in the park - or even down Sunset Boulevard.

Just hours after the controversial revealed their plans to divorce in a joint statement to MailOnline, Courtney was letting her hair down in Hollywood with a gaggle of friends.

The aspiring model and actress, 19, dressed up to the nines in a tiny LBD and vertiginous leopard print heels.

Regret over the failure of her two-an-a-half-year marriage to Green Mile star Doug, 53, appeared to be the furthest thing from her mind.

Instead she enjoyed revelling at Hollywood's iconic dive bar and grill, Rainbow, where she presumably was sipping on soda rather than spirits.

In a statement to MailOnline on Tuesday, the estrange couple confirmed they were legally separating, but that Doug will remain as Courtney's co-manager alongside her mother Krista.

It read: 'After two and a half years of marriage, Courtney and Doug have decided to become legally separated.

'Courtney was married at a young age. Now, at nineteen, she’s interested in exploring life as an unmarried single young adult - with the freedom to explore her independence.

'Doug supports Courtney 100 per cent. The two will share custody of their precious pup, Dourtney, remain living in the same house [for now] in separate bedrooms, and Doug will be co-managing Courtney’s career.'

The statement added: 'We love each other very much, want for each other’s happiness, and will continue being the best of friends for life.'

Last week MailOnline reported the pair had split, the day after Courtney threw a Halloween party without him at their Hollywood Hills home.

And back in August MailOnline revealed how Doug freaked out and became concerned Courtney might leave him after she flirted with fellow Celebrity Big Brother UK contestant Mario Falcone, 25 during her appearance on the show over the summer.

Courtney and Doug were briefly reunited on the programme, but Courtney seemed distant when she went to embrace him - and was more concerned that she had been forced to wear unsexy overalls as part of a task.

Courtney married Doug in Las Vegas in May 2011 when she was just 16.

Their union made headlines around the world and turned Courtney into an overnight personality.

The pair met after a fame hungry Courtney signed up for an acting workshop over the internet ran by Doug. They met in person after several months of 'courting' online, which Courtney's mother Krista was aware of, and marriage followed soon after.

I hope she does indeed have a lot of fun while she's exploring her independence. She's only 19 after all. At least the split does seem to be genuinely amicable. Good luck to both.

Cartoon Courtney has probably reached the apogee of her meteoric exposure and sadly now, like a rudderless ship, she will get involved in things that will not end well.
