He is currently one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood due to his starring role in the successful Hunger Games franchise.

But it seems Liam Hemsworth hasn’t always had such a glittering career, as Jay Leno kindly pointed out to him when he appeared on The Tonight Show on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old blushed furiously as he watched back a clip of himself aged 18, seducing a woman in just a pair of white pants on an Australian TV show.

It didn’t take long for Liam to cringe as he quickly realised he was being set up for some embarrassment when Leno started quizzing him about his previous TV roles.

When asked what the most successful show was he was on in his home country, he replied: ‘Yeah I remember Satisfaction, it’s a show about upper class prostitutes and I played an 18-year-old. I think I was 18 at the time and I played a 17-year-old pretending to be 18’

To which Liam replied, laughing: ‘Yeah, it takes some serious skill. I wasn’t wearing a lot on the show though.’

Leno then played the clip which showed him in a pair of tight Y-fronts walking towards a sexy older-looking woman who is playing a game of pool.

Satisfaction aired from 2007- 2010 and centred around the lives and loves of a group of women who were sex workers in a high class brothel.

Liam had a recurring role on the show, which received positive reviews from critics, as a character called Marc.

Aside from taking about his raunchy past, Liam was on the show to talk about the Hunger Games sequel in which he returns as Gale Hawthone.

It marks a return to the limelight for the actor after he has been keeping a low profile since his split from his fiancée Miley Cyrus.

While he has stayed away from the public eye as much as possible, Miley has of course been courting controversy as much as possible, as she promotes her new album Bangerz.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is out on November 22.
