About bB

bureau Brandeis is a Netherlands based law firm, specialized in complex litigation. Our track record shows we can win the most difficult cases. We represent our clients in all stages of procedural law, from expedited summary proceedings to Supreme Court litigation. We have a particularly strong background in internet and technology law.

We don’t take on all cases. We devote our time and effort to matters we care about. We focus on issues with an overriding public interest. Should we join forces, you will be represented by a firm that is as passionate about winning your case as you are.

We owe part of our success to our unique fact-finding procedure. We believe cases are as much decided on the basis of facts, as on the law. We will relentlessly go through every aspect of the matter with you until we have a deep understanding of your case. This requires close cooperation with our clients.

We are pragmatic. If we think your case should not be tried in court, we will advise you to settle.

As litigators, we also have in-depth knowledge on how to prevent disputes. Our clients appreciate our down-to-earth contracts, comprehensible memoranda and thorough compliance work. Members of Parliament, both Dutch and European, call upon us frequently for advice on developing laws.

We regularly do in-house presentations and workshops upon request, usually for the legal department or senior staff. We have recently presented for RTL, Marktplaats, Hollandse Hoogte, het Juridisch Loket, Malmberg and KPN. We can also provide compliance checks, if necessary together with technical partners.

Fees
We are a highly specialized, commercial law firm. Our fees are set accordingly. However, if you are not fully satisfied with our work, you don’t have to pay us. We offer a hundred percent satisfaction guarantee.

We very much enjoy close collaborations with our clients and are keen to share work. In our experience, costs can be reduced if we agree that you undertake certain activities under our guidance.

Pro bono
We strongly believe litigation can be a means to create benefits to society as a whole. We realize that complex litigation may be a costly affair. If your case bears an overriding public interest and we believe in your matter as strongly as you do we are prepared to provide our legal services for free or at discount. We dedicate ten percent of our time to handle cases pro bono.

Louis Brandeis
The name of our firm is a tribute to the late Louis Brandeis, US Supreme Court Judge. Before joining the Supreme Court in 1916 he was a litigator for more than thirty years. In 1890 Brandeis, together with Warren, wrote one of the most-quoted Harvard Law Review articles ever; ‘The Right to Privacy’. As an attorney he argued and won cases that have resulted in enduring social benefits.
