Most women looking to draw attention away from a rounded tummy would baulk at the idea of wearing horizontal stripes.

But then Drew Barrymore has never been one to conform to such rules.

The 38-year-old stepped out for a spot of lunch with her husband, Will Kopelman, in Hollywood on Saturday, proudly displaying her blossoming baby belly under a loose-fitting red and white striped long-sleeved top.

Dressed casually for the outing, the actress completed her outfit with black pants and sensible blue suede ballet flats.

She wore her hair up in a messy ponytail and went make-up-free, hiding her tired eyes behind cool amber-framed sunglasses.

Her art consultant husband of 17 months matched his wife with his smart-casual attire of dark blue jeans, blue T-shirt and brown loafers.

The pair left 13-month-old daughter Olive at home as they ate, leaving a short time later with a bag bulging with leftovers.

Having confirmed her pregnancy on November 4, the Never Been Kissed star spoke to E! News at the Baby2Baby Gala in Culver City, California later that evening, where she admitted that now she's pregnant again, she's reconsidering her desire to have a large brood.

'I think every other pregnant woman out there can relate to the fact that you say you want all of this stuff and then when you're pregnant, it becomes very day-by-day,' she explained.

'But as soon as you give birth you forget everything and you're like, "Yes! Let's go again!" So I'll have to wait a little while to think about the big picture again.'

Drew wore a pretty pale green and white gown that disguised her growing frame, though she tenderly cradled her bump as she walked the red carpet.

That same night she told Us Weekly that she's been craving Chinese food non-stop second time around.

'I like specifically pan fried noodles. I’m going to make a list of the best pan fried noodles in Los Angeles,' she laughed.
