And in real-life it seems that Robert Downey Jr is just as impressive - as he managed to haul a host of A-lister's to his wife Susan's 40th birthday celebrations in San Francisco on Monday.

Robert has been keen for his film producer wife - who turned 40 on November 6 - to celebrate her milestone birthday in style.

Susan is said to have enjoyed a luxury stay at the Cavallo Point resort near Sausalito, California, among a number of their favourite friends.

On Sunday, the famous crowd - including Gwyneth Paltrow and Gwen Stefani - were seen tucking into some delight from a food truck parked in a nearby park for an outdoor pic.

Hopefully the staunchly healthy Gwyneth was able to find something appropriate to eat from the truck, that dished out burgers and fries.

She certainly seemed to have a lot to catch up on with Jennifer Aniston's beau Justin Theroux has the pair were seen chatting away.

Hollywood stars who joined the happy couple included Justin Theroux, Reese Witherspoon, Gavin Rossdale, and Jon Favreau.

A source told E! News: 'It was a great weekend for Susan, and Robert went all out to make sure she knows how special she is.

'Around 50 of their closest friends came up for the weekend and stayed at the hotel in historic houses. It was a very relaxing weekend and there was a lot of time for people to catch up.'

On Saturday night they partied in the ballroom of the hotel which was followed by a fireworks display. The celebrations were family-friendly with entertainment provided for children too.

The source added: 'There were kids running around everywhere, and the whole weekend catered to families. They had lot of kids' entertainment and the children were included in all of the events, even the nighttime birthday party.'

Adding: 'The whole group was very tight and very friendly. There was lots of hugging and reminiscing with old friends.'

On Sunday morning the group enjoyed brunch before singing happy birthday to Susan and leaving.

The sourced added: 'When it was time to go on Sunday, everyone talked about how much fun they had and that it was too short. They wished it could have lasted longer.'

unless he changed clothes halfway through, that is not him in the grey thing. He is definitely the one in the army green in the later photo. He was misidentified in the earlier photos. you can tell in the shots that show the grey outfit guy's face.
