'We're just friends!' says Nicole Scherzinger as she insists her relationship with Lewis Hamilton is platonic

They parted ways in June, but despite the seemingly permanent nature of their split Nicole Scherzinger insists that she is still on good terms with Lewis Hamilton.

The X Factor judge and former Pussycat Doll has been a free agent since her relationship with the Formula 1 ace came to an end.

But while they are reported to have recently enjoyed a secret rendezvous at a London hotel, Nicole says her relationship with Hamilton is strictly platonic – for now.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: ‘We’re just friends. Just friends. We just, um, met up to speak that night. That’s all.’

Nicole’s early appearances on the latest series of The X Factor coincided with their split, and she often broke down while touring the country for the audition stage of the hit show.

During that period she says the strong Christian beliefs that were instilled in her during childhood helped steer her through a very difficult time.

She said: ‘I got really deep into my spirituality. I know that's not what you really talk about over here but for me it's been my saviour.

‘A lot of time in relationships people lose themselves -- they lose that sparkle, that shine, their purpose and how 'schmazing' they can be.

‘For me, I had to get back to my core, my centre, my soul.’

Despite being content to remain single, the 35-year-old singer keeps an open mind regarding a reunion with her ex.

‘But whatever the future holds, I don't rule anything out,’ she said. ‘I also don't have any regrets.’

Nicole was last spotted making a grand entrance at London’s Heron Tower to celebrate the first year of Sushi Samba’s London branch on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile Lewis was seen ferrying his suitcase across the sidewalk during a recent stay in New York City, shortly before flying to southern California.

I don't think Nicole is ready to give up the limelight. she made comments about how she regrets being boring and wishing she were more like miley cyrus. this from a 35 yr old woman. personally I think she's a little retarded. Lewis needs to get his head out of his a$% and that God he can move on.

She looks so much better when she wears decent clothes that cover up. All this semi naked revealing clothing lately......she's getting too old for it and has so much class and beauty she is almost detracting from that now. Don't start cheapening yourself like the other girls. You don't need to!
