They once were rumoured to be lovers.

Now Andy Cohen is congratulating his good friend Sean Avery - a former hockey star - on popping the question to gorgeous Victoria's Secret supermodel Hilary Rhoda.

'Mazel @imseanavery on your REAL engagement! You and Hilary make a better couple than you and me!' the Bravo host tweeted on Wednesday.

Just hours before the funnyman's tweet, the couple confirmed they are set to walk down the aisle.

'We are very happy to announce our engagement,' the couple told People. 'We are excited to plan the most beautiful and fun wedding that we could ever imagine.'

The couple that started dating in 2010 want to tie the knot in 2014 and are 'thinking of Jamaica,' according to People's source.

Sean, 33, has played for the Detroit Red Wings, the Los Angeles Kings, the Dallas Stars and the New York Rangers during his 12-year NHL career.

Hi fiancee, 26, has modeled for Estée Lauder and Sports Illustrated.

Sean and Andy were rumoured to be dating - and whispers of an engagement even spread - after the Real Housewives reunion host posted a photo of them shirtless during a July 4 vacation in the Hamptons.

But the Watch What Happens Live host was quick to say, 'Sean Avery is straight. Do you understand that? So a gay guy and a straight guy should be able to be friends, without you asking me if we're engaged. Right? He's very, very straight. Listen I'd be happy if Sean and I were banging... but it's not [happening].’

Eyes will definitely be on Hilary as she struts her famously slender figure down the catwalk at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show at Lexington Armory in New York.

It's sure to be a dazzler as Hilary would expect no less, having turned heads at every event she attends with her high-class style.

Hilary wowed everyone with her elegant presence as she attended The Tenth Annual CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Awards in New York on Monday.

She wore a fuchsia gown with plunging neckline and strategic cut-outs around waist, while her hair was arranged neatly at the back of her neck.
