Turk that! Mancini lines up lucrative move to tempt Chelsea captain Terry to Galatasaray

Galatasaray will try to tempt John Terry away from Chelsea with a multi-million-pound three-year deal.

The Turkish champions have stepped up their interest in Terry to satisfy new manager Roberto Mancini’s request for defensive reinforcements.

Terry is out of contract at the end of the season and allowed to open talks with overseas clubs from January 1.

Galatasaray are understood to be constructing a deal for the 32-year-old worth £3.2million a year after tax, for two years, with the option of a third.

Attractive bonuses and incentives for success in the Champions League would make it a competitive offer for Terry, who is thought to earn £8m a year.

The Turks appear to be serious and it is impossible to question the ambition of a club that lured Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder to Istanbul and appointed Mancini on a three-year contract.

They have deployed the London-based agent Muzzi Ozcan, who led the swoop for Mancini in September.

Terry has started every Barclays Premier League game this season and it is hard to imagine he would abandon Jose Mourinho in January.

A move in the summer on a free transfer appears a more realistic proposition.

JT has probably one more good year with Chelsea...he'd be mad to turn this offer down.

He is still one of England's best CB players but the media witch hunt forced his to retire. One week after the Chelsea v WBA game and STILL WBA have not been charged with the seven bookings and the keeper has not been charged with violent conduct. The yellow livered cronies at the FA are as inept and inconsistent as the PL refs they employ.

The tip must be from Drogba. But the only way Mancini can buy JT is when he possibly buy Chelsea itself from Abrahimovich. Done
