EXCLUSIVE 'We're just going to have to hope for the best': Tom Fletcher reveals wife Giovanna is due to give birth just WEEKS before McBusted tour kicks off

He's preparing for the impending arrival of his first child, as well as a UK tour with his brand new supergroup, McBusted.

But Tom Fletcher has revealed he's cutting it a little fine when it comes to dates, with pregnant wife Giovanna due to give birth in March - just weeks before the band kick off their string of performances in Glasgow, Scotland, on April 18.

Joking that the couple's baby may end up joining McBusted on their tour bus, the 28-year-old singer admitted the couple are keeping everything crossed that their bundle of joy arrives on time.

Tom told MailOnline: 'Giovanna is due a few weeks before the McBusted tour kicks off. I think we’re just going to have to ignore the whole first babies being late thing and hope for the best.

'I'll obviously want to spend as much time as possible with Giovanna and the baby. Maybe they can join us on the tour? We’ll just have to work it out as we go.'

In the lead-up to the arrival of the couple's first child, Tom has been swotting up on baby books to ensure he's fully prepared for any eventuality.

Speaking at the star-studded global launch of the new Playstation 4 console at London's iconic OXO Tower on Thursday night, he joked: 'I’ve been reading all the baby books, every single one of them.

'So much so that I think I could probably deliver the baby now if I had to. There’s an app too, I’ve been using them all.'

Childhood sweethearts Tom and Giovanna - who started dating at the age of just 13 when they were both pupils at the Sylvia Young Theatre School - announced they were expecting their first child via an adorable video montage of them carving pumpkins together.

And the McFly frontman admitted the couple are utterly thrilled at the prospect of becoming parents.

He added to MailOnline: 'The pumpkins were my idea, I think I had a bit too much time on my hands at that point. But we just wanted to do something a bit different and it had got to the stage where we literally couldn’t hide it anymore. But we’re so happy and so excited.

'We’ve got a list of names as long as our arms, and we really need to narrow it down a bit. We’re not finding out whether it’s going to be a boy or a girl though, we want it to be a surprise.'

Giovanna's younger brother, TOWIE womaniser Mario Falcone, will be the baby's uncle, and although Tom explained he's going to spoil the little one rotten, he joked that he won't allow the lothario to take his child under his wing - especially if the couple have a boy.

He explained: 'Mario is going to be the popular uncle, he’s going to be such a good uncle and I know he’s going to spoil the baby rotten. But if it’s a boy he’s never taking him out alone! We wouldn’t want him to lead him astray.'

To the person that said Mcfly haven't been around for ages. They released a greatest hits album along with a new single earlier this year, I saw them on tour earlier this year and they currently have a single out called 'Love is on the radio'. The recently did a gig at The Royal Albert Hall for their 10th anniversary with James and Matt from Busted joining them for a few songs. It got such a good response that they decided to do a tour. His job is being a musician so why not plan a tour if that is what he does? Sure he has enough money to be able to make arrangements to travel and see his new baby.

Do you think they suddenly decided to tour after finding out G is pregnant? They probably planned all this year.

If it's been planned all year why not have it sooner then i.e. this summer just gone! Or even next autumn, when the baby will be a few months old. It's not like McFly and Busted have that busy schedules is it!
