The 38-year-old was seen stepping out with her youthful and chic mother Theresa as they celebrated her husband Josh Duhamel's 41st birthday on Thursday night.

New mother Fergie was her usual fashionable self in a pair of black wax denim jeans twinned with a floaty black T-shirt and a studded black leather jacket and steel-capped stilettos.

While she was wearing slimming black, the Dutchess star has clearly shed even more pounds off her frame since giving birth to son Axl back in August this year.

Meanwhile, Fergie's mother, a Roman Catholic school teacher, showed off a similar style to her daughter.

The strawberry blonde Ferguson matriarch was youthful in a pair of brown skinny jeans tucked into brown leather knee-high boots and teamed with a white T-shirt and brown suede and leather biker jacket.

Both women beamed as they posed outside a friend's restaurant where they chose to celebrate Josh's milestone.

Theresa is no doubt thrilled to be a new grandmother to the couple's nearly three-month-old son.

While the little boy may only be ten-weeks-old, he gave a big smile to the camera.

Fergie posted the image - which features just the baby's head - on her Instagram with the caption, 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!!!'

In the picture, the little boy wears a bandanna and, obviously destined to be a star like his parents, stares directly down the camera lens.

Josh has been very hands on with little Axl, who was born on August 29.

The actor and the singer each take turns looking after their first born so that they can continue with their Hollywood careers.

While no doubt doting parents, unlike many first time mothers and fathers they have made sure to continue to enjoy time with each other, occasionally leaving the baby with a sitter so they can go out at night.

The Safe Haven star recently told E! News he loves being a father and Fergie loves being a mother.

'First of all, we're obsessed with him. We can't stop staring at him. He's our little man, we made him together,' he said.

'I think there's something you can't really describe until you go through it. I think any parents out there would understand that... It's just an incredible time for both of us.'
