Women when he wants to let go.. let him go. It's not worth your life or the life of your children.
Hope this story does not have to be presented time and again for other people to learn the lesson it's intended to teach.
Lets hope they never let him out! maybe he'll get in trouble inside, and add years to his sentence.
Ms. Moriarty's cadaverous appearance. No joke, that gal needs to eat.
If you are the one moving out, pack up your things at a time you know he will not be home and is very unlikely to show up unexpectedly, and have a couple friends with you or the police standing by. If he's moving- don't be there alone with him.
If you must meet with him DO NOT go to his home or anywhere except inside (not the parking lot!) a public place. Take a friend with you or have one nearby. Do not go for a "quick ride" with him. Make sure family and friends know your daily schedule and have them check in with you regularly. As we have seen, having your children with you is no deterrent and may place them in danger; their presence will not protect you.
TRUST your gut!! If you have even the slightest inkling that your partner may try to harm you, if he has threatened you (even when drunk), if he's obsessed with money and angry over child-support or the divorce settlement, let people know. Keep a diary of the things he says. Record his calls. Let the police know that you are afraid for your safety- even if he's never been violent before. You can't be TOO cautious. Don't talk yourself out of being careful. As women, we always want to believe the best about the people we have loved, but your life may depend upon the skill of being vigilant and a bit suspicious.
Watching CSI has nothing to do with anything. That is like blaming gun violence on video games. And I get very upset when I hear detectives say the case "hits close to home" since it involved the murder of a police officer's daughter. It shouldn't matter. ALL crimes should be considered priority, regardless of the association with law enforcement.
I also want to say thanks to the DA(s), detectives and all law enforecement personel that helped to convict Dan
Dewilde. This show never fails to report a story in a way that always allows me to feel what it might be like for each person that is involved in a situation like this. From the saddness of loved ones to the determination of the advocates that work so hard to bring justice. Thank you 48hrs....for another great show.
