The first time around is always a surprise, but Kendra Wilkinson claims she is a pro at pregnancy now.

Expecting her second child with husband 31-year-old NFL player Hank Baskett, the 29-year-old former Playboy model was taking everything in her stride as she left the Kim Vo Salon in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.

'I've got it by the balls,' the Girls Next Door star exclaimed in an interview this week, and it certainly looks that way if her flawless hair and slim figure are anything to go by.

Dressed in a bright red tunic top that flowed over her small baby bump, and slim-fitting black jeans that showed off her toned legs, the expectant mother - who hasn't revealed how fall along she is - glowed as she walked from her pampering session with stylist Mika Fowler.

'Thank you sooo much @kimvosalon and@mikafowlerxx for my new amazing do' can't wait 4 everyone to c it!!! The best!!' she gushed on Twitter, while posting a selfie of her sat in a salon chair getting a good few inches cut off her blonde hair.

With barely a hair out of place and a bright smile on her face, Wilkinson appears to be loving being pregnant this time around.

After struggling to lose the baby weight after Hank Baskett IV, now almost four, was born in December 2009, Kendra told Us Weekly this week: 'First time around I'm like, "I'm a skinny person, I'm going to get back right away."'

'Oh no. I learned a lot from my first one. I'm working out every day, doing anything I can to control this time around,' the 5'4" former glamour model confessed.

Fortunately, Kendra's pregnancy cravings have been largely for vegetarian foods, letting her indulge in wholesome salads and citrus blends.

Kendra - who previously dated Playboy founder Hugh Hefner - added: 'The stereotypical pickle flavours and deviled eggs and potato salad.

'But it's not all bad!' she explained. 'It's so weird. I've been more on the vegetarian side during pregnancy so far. So meat and chicken is not something I want. It's all fresh salads and anything lemon.' Family fun: Kendra, husband Hank Baskett and son Hank IV attended the chilly Frozen premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on Tuesday

It is no doubt a relief that its smooth sailing so far after the Kendra On Top star struggled with postpartum depression after Hank's birth.

'It got pretty bad, (but) not to the point where I would harm my family. I was a great mom and did what I needed to, but I was definitely very depressed,' she told People in August 2011. '(Motherhood is) a big change in life and it happened overnight.'

Wilkinson said that she thinks the problem began when all of her attention turned toward her son, leaving little time for herself, combined with the intense public pressure to regain her petite body after blossoming to 140 pounds.

'At the time I was doing whatever I could for the baby, but I lost myself and it was really frustrating,' she revealed. 'Being in the spotlight is a lot of pressure about losing the weight, (especially) coming from the Playboy world.'

Moving to Indianapolis where Hank Sr. was playing American football for the Colts didn't help either, as she didn't know anyone there and felt isolated and alone with her child.

Wilkinson has yet to divulge the sex of the family's latest addition, but said that Hank IV is excited to be a big brother. 'I tell him everything. There’s no hiding in our house,' she told Us. 'He's beyond excited. He's beyond. I mean it's because of him we're having another one. It's perfect timing for everyone.'

lol, like you can controle your weight when your pregnant..... believe me i had four pregnancies... and none could i controle lol... when your baby is asking for food you will eat, when your belly is feeling heavy you can sit down at the gym but you won't do a thing... don't start about the swollen feet! Just admit you got enough money for the tummy tuck this time... :-)

I think the shorter hair is a nice change for her, but I think her long hair suits her a lot better. I think it is really sad how all pregnant celebrities seem to talk about now is their weight while pregnant and how quickly they lose the weight. Seriously...how about talking about the amazing news that you are having another child! Shouldn't that be the hot topic right now! Although for Kendra I guess not, judging from her appearance on Mom Swap she would rather sleep in every morning and keep living her life while the nanny and her husband look after their baby. Probably won't change with a second one.

Good for her with the shorter hair! A much more sophisticated look for a future mother of two. I wish Kate Middleton would do this!
