Kelly Ripa stumbles on red carpet in heels (and Allison Williams can't help but giggle)
|
Her hosting duties have afforded her the label of one of the Most Powerful People in Media.
But for a brief moment on Wednesday, Kelly Ripa almost lost control as she took an awkward tumble in the middle of a star-studded red carpet during the CNN Heroes tribute in New York City.
Onlookers reached out hands of assistance and Allison Williams lost herself in hysterical giggles as the 43-year-old talk show host found herself greeting the carpet far more personally than she'd planned.
Whoops! Kelly Ripa failed to safely land her red carpet stride on Tuesday night at the CNN Heroes event in New York City, taking a rather embarrassing stumble and causing Alison Williams to giggle
Kelly had added a significant amount
of extraneous height to her red carpet battle, with her very high black
platform pumps elevating her a further few inches from the ground below.
In her elegant black and white silk
frock - backless and all - the pretty blonde television personality
showed no signs of putting a dint in her otherwise elegant image.
But alas, something must have gone slightly wrong along the way as far as balance and gravity were concerned, because Kelly soon found herself falling face-first towards the fluffy red ground.
Back on her feet: The 43-year-old talk show host quickly pulled herself together and struck cute poses
What a hero! In spite of her tumble in front of plenty of people Kelly stood up and continued her carpet run
The hysterical, albeit frightening
moment was captured when the Live With Kelly And Michael star's arm
reflexes took over and her hands flung out before her to soften the
fall.
One passer by threw their hand out in
an attempt to help, and another pulled a concerned face at Kelly's
imminent fate, but the one and only Allison Williams simply could not
take the hilarity.
The Girls star burst out laughing as she watched her friend catapult towards the floor.
Flattering: Kelly was stunning in a silk black frock with a slash of white fabric across the front
Luckily, Kelly is as strong as they
come, so it wasn't long before she was back up on her two feet with
everything facing in the right direction, posing for happy snaps on the
celebrity-ridden red carpet.
She cuddled up to funnyman Alan
Cummings and posed for a girly snap with Mariska Hargitay as she left
the moment that could have been so much worse in the depths of ancient
history.
The annual event, titled CNN Heroes: An All Star Tribute, was held at the American Museum Of Natural History in New York.
Happy snap: Kelly cosied up to Alan Cumming at the event for a cute photo
Ladies in black: Kelly also stopped for a snap with Mariska Hargitay at the event that paid tribute to CNN

Those ridiculous heels. How much more embarrassment and injury will it take before women gather up enough courage to Just Say No to the fashion fascists who've shamed so many into wearing these hazards?
