One Direction's Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne got the chance to have a kick-about on the very pitch on which David Beckham played for five years, fulfilling their 'boyhood dreams'.

Niall shared a number of snaps of the trio decked out in LA Galaxy's white strip on Thursday after playing alongside the team, as well as a video of him scoring an impressive goal.

The 20-year-old couldn't hide his excitement as he took to Twitter to say: 'Massive thanks to LA galaxy for having us today and allowing us to play In the stadium! #boyhooddreams'.

The Best Song Ever stars, who are all big football fans, have previously been lucky enough to spend time with the Real Madrid squad.

The singers took time out from promoting their album, Midnight Memories, in the US to head to the StubHub Stadium for the afternoon.

The lads, who were minus Zayn Malik and Harry Styles, posed with their arms around two of the team while stood on the pitch.

Louis was making his return to the beautiful game after injuring his knee in a charity football game last month.

The 21-year-old was forced to hobble off the pitch when he was tackled by professional Aston Villa striker, Gabriel Agbonlahor, who later received abuse from fans.

The pop star, despite having singed as a played for Doncaster Rovers earlier this year, appeared to have been beaten by Niall if video footage is anything to go by.

The Irish star posted a short clip of himself scoring a goal, writing: 'Was soo happy with myself even though there was no goalkeeper haha'.

He was later seen carrying a pot of water with help from someone else, after finishing his game, adding: 'Done and dusted'.

Last week, One Direction appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show where they were questioned about their love lives before Niall asked the host if he go to the bathroom mid-interview.

Tweeting about the incident, he said: 'There goes the most embarrassing moment of my life! I asked king @wossy could I go to the toilet! You just don't do that! I'm sorry'.

The boys will be gracing the latest front cover of Billboard magazine.

Within the publication they give a detailed and intimate account of what it is like about life on the road, as well as they aspirations for the future and musical influences.

On getting homesick Niall said: 'Luckily, I have my four best mates on the road with me to keep me from getting lonely. Of course we all miss home at times.

'Who wouldn’t, being on the road all year long? Wouldn’t give it up for anything though.'

I do hope you're joking with that goal being an impressive one, because it is NOT, I repeat NOT, hard to score a goal like that. You can do that in your back garden or the park. What a load of tripe this article is.
