Achy breaking it in! Billy Ray Cyrus and daughter Noah take Miley's $30K birthday trike for a spin

Hopefully it is not meant to be a surprise gift.

For Billy Ray Cyrus let his daughter Noah take her big sister's birthday trike out for a spin in Los Angeles on Friday.

The jolly musician looked in high spirits as he gave another family member a lift on the back of his machine while zooming around with the 13-year-old.

Indeed he waved and pumped his fist at adoring fans as he sped around the trendy Toluca Lake area of the city.

Billy, 52, did not look like he was afraid of taking a tumble, as he wore a soft woolen hat, leather jacket, jeans and brown boots as he raced.

However the responsible parent made sure his young daughter was more careful on the back of her sister's new $30,000 birthday present, which will be officially hers on Saturday.

Noah wore a white crash helmet, checkered shirt and trousers as she took her sisters Can Am Spyder for a spin.

But spending some quality time was not the only thing on country beefcake Billy's agenda for the day.

For he held an unlikely jamming session with Eurythmics star Dave at the 2013 American Music Awards Radio Room at Nokia Theatre on November 22.

While he is best known for his cult hit single Achy Breaky Heart, which regularly appears at the summit of worst song ever polls, his debut album Some Gave All has been certified nine times platinum in the United States.

Wearing the flag: Noah must have been extra confident she would win the race as she wore a chequered shirt

Billy Ray should be held accountable for 2 offences: punishing us with Achy Breaky Heart and Miley.

She's 13 years old and she is wearing bright red lipstick? Don't think much of Billy Ray's parenting style.

Fantastic machines & amazing fun, but.... (I know, boring killjoy) crash helmets are a MUST. Look how damaged Ozzy was when he came off his quad at low speed. And Rick Mayall. These beasties are MUCH quicker. Just a thought.

Billy Ray and Tish are just one big parenting fail after another.

Get a grip. This is just a family having fun. I don't ride motorcycles and don't like motorcycles. However, my brother does. So, when I was last at his place he cajoled me into getting on the back of one with him. I imagine the comments from this crowd if anyone had posted a picture. Here, all you have is a father spending time with his daughter doing something out of the ordinary, like most of us do on occasion. Yes, I could have been the normal stick in the mud when my brother tried to get me on the back of his motorcycle. But, that is not living. And, a picture of me on the back of a motorcycle doesnt mean I have transmuted into some reckless risk taker either. Look at their antics. Does that look like a girl who is used to being on the back of a motorcyle? And, based on the clarity of the picture, doesnt look like the father is being reckless either. I know fathers who have a passion for motorcycles who have never taken their daughters for a ride. To me, that wd be the tragedy.

All of which is true, and a fine sentiment.... But, would a couple of crash helmets have gone amiss? It's not like they're strapped for cash....
