Even celebrity chefs aren't immune to accidents in the kitchen.

Giada De Laurentiis said she had blood pouring 'everywhere' after she cut her finger during a live Food Network Thanksgiving special on Saturday.

'I was slicing my turkey porchetta and I guess I just sliced through my finger at the same time,' the 43-year-old told Today.

The accident happened during a commercial break, but that didn't stop her fellow celeb chefs, Bobby Flay, Alton Brown and Ina Garten from 'freaking out'.

'When I realized it, I went to the sink to put pressure to see how big it was,' she recalled

'I think everybody kind of freaked out. We don’t do live television usually on Food Network. These things usually just get hidden, but it couldn’t get hidden.'

De Laurentiis left the set before the commercial break ended, but returned shortly after for Food Network's Thanksgiving Live Google+ Hangout. She later posted before-and-after photos of her finger on Instagram.

'I got several stitches on this little tiny finger. The problem is I sliced into my nail bed,' she explained, before adding that the wound is healing nicely.

'It’s all right. It throbs a little bit. And I have to sleep like this and basically walk around like this,' the celebrity chef admitted while holding up her bandaged finger in the air.

'Honestly, I’ve been doing this a long time. I’ve never cut myself like this,' she added as she demonstrated how to slice vegetables and meat.

I've been working in the kitchen for years cut my fingers many times not once I need a medical attention. Anyway, her recipes are quite nice.

I am sure the poor turkey suffered alot more than that during it's pitiful life. Turkeys are bred to be so large their legs cannot support the weight of their bodies. Eating turkey is consuming cruelty - I doubt there is much blessing from that.

Sorry but she's not a real chef... I bought some of her utensils made in CHINA of course: awful quality. Grandpa didn't leave her any money that she has to do this? Too much attention to food anyway....

Ina is the old bitter elite (Hampton) liberal who acts like she is better than everyone else. Ina is obviously jealous of Gia. Gia is adorable, fun loving & a natural.

My nails have saved me a time or two from slicing off the entire end of my finger!

I'm not a celebrity but I'm told I'm a good cook, a week ago I did the same thing cutting meat for a steak and kidney pie. I bet like wise each of them has numerous small scars and burns on their hands, just comes with the trade.

She really seemed to be in love with herself. All of the talk about the glasses-wearing (to wear or not to wear) was insane.

I watch this show every year but this year was painful. The tension between Giada and Ina Garden was really obvious. After she cut her finger Ina said under her breath, (Good, I'm glad she is gone) Giada acted as if she was drunk. It was not an enjoyable show at all. I cannot stand Giada's toothy grin. Sometimes she is too much!

That was it: GdL seemed drunk. Even later on , Alton outed her for it.
