She's known for pushing the boundaries when it comes to her outfit choices.

But Lady Gaga appears to be running out of ideas on how to hit headlines with her ensembles, and instead took inspiration from another pop princess as she headed out after the American Music Awards on Sunday night.

Gaga appeared to have taken some tips from Britney Spears' Toxic video as she sported a revealing, nude, bejewelled bodysuit to continue her celebrations after the ceremony at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.

While Gaga's outfit was slightly revealing, it is a far cry from her usual eccentric ensembles.

However, the 27-year-old did flash a bit of flesh by going bra-less in the outfit, opting for just a tiny thong to preserve her modesty as she snarled at the cameras while heading into the nightspot.

Clearly a fan of the bling for her evening out, Gaga teamed her all-in-one with a pair of silver sparkly stilettos, and two diamonds stuck on her forehead.

She finished off her look with minimal make-up and her blonde hair loose and straight.

Gaga's outing came as new claims emerged as to the reason behind the singer's recent split from long-term manager Troy Carter.

According to the New York Post, Gaga and Carter butted heads when the star's record label Interscope asked her to add some more 'radio-friendly big tracks' to her latest album Artpop.

They are also reported to have suggested to Gaga that she could release Artpop as an EP, before then releasing an album of more poppy tracks.

However, Gaga is said to have point-black refused to comply, arguing with Carter when he was asked by the label to get involved in a bid to changed her mind.

A representative for the label denied the claims, telling the New York Post: 'That story is untrue and ridiculous. Gaga has creative control, and we are thrilled with her album.

'It’s the No. 1 album, and everyone would love a No. 1 album. What’s not to be happy about?'

Before heading to Chateau Marmont, Gaga had earlier attended the AMAs, where she made her way onto the red carpet atop a horse, before completing a raunchy routine alongside R Kelly in a set made to look like the U.S. President's Oval Office.

Donning a spectacles and a spangly silver number, Gaga played a sexy secretary to Kelly's cigar-smoking president for the performance of their track Do What U Want.

The performance immediately brought to mind the infamous 90s affair between U. S. President Bill Clinton and intern Monica Lewinsky.

Unfortunately for her she waited about 10 yrs too late to have the body to pull it off. Compared to how good Brittney looked when she wore it, it makes me cringe.

Hardly a fashion icon - no-one is lining up to copy her. I hated Madonna and her music, but even I noticed that most of my classmates were dressing like her in her early years (thank goodness no-one on the planet thought the Abba rip-off song's video was a good look).
