Radical dude! Olympic snowboarder Shaun White buys luxurious beachfront mansion in California for $9million

After all the time he spends on the slopes, Olympian snowboarder Shaun White no doubt needs a patch of sun where he can thaw out.

And now the 27-year-old sports star seems to have found it - because he has reportedly splashed out on a $8.9 million beachfront mansion in Malibu, California.

White, who hails from San Diego, reportedly bought the four-bedroom home from recently-divorced television bigwig Mike Fleiss, who created The Bachelor and The Bachelorette series.

And it seems the perfect place for the Californian bachelor - complete with stunning views over the beach and ocean, as well as his own private deck and swimming pool.

The deal was privately handled and the property was not put on the market, which means little is known about his home-to-be.

But The Real Estalker reported that former listings noted the house was built in the 1950s and covers 2,625 square foot.

It has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a separate one bedroom and one bedroom guest house, as well as a detached 800-square-foot office, which could also be used as a recreation room.

Work and play: White, 27, holds the X-Games record for the most gold medals and the number of medals overall. He is originally from San Diego - not far from his new place in Malibu

It said that Fliess and his ex-wife also owned a property next door to White's new home. They sold that property last year for $6 million.

His new neighbors include actor Owen Wilson and film writer, director and producer Bryan Singer, famous for The Usual Suspects and the X-Men franchise.

It will hopefully give him enough space for his vast medal collection. As well as taking a gold in the 2006 and 2010 Olympics, he has won nearly 30 other medals as well as a handful for skate boarding.

He started out with skateboarding, even meeting and becoming the protege of Tony Hawk when he was only nine. But he picked up snowboarding when he was six and now holds the X-Games record for the number of gold medals and overall medal count.

He's let fame go to his head though. Locals in So Cal aren't all that impressed by his holier-than-thou attitude.

Looks like a nice and bright and open floor plan and great place to chill. I met him once he was very friendly and surprisingly good looking in person with neat hair.
