Giving back! Jesse Metcalfe and fiancée Cara Santana help dish out supplies to needy families at Texas food bank

As Christopher Ewing on Dallas, Jesse Metcalfe will do anything to get what he wants, but in real life, the handsome actor proves he only has pure intentions.

Jesse Metcalfe, 34, along with his fiancée Cara Santana, got into the Thanksgiving spirit by volunteering with the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday.

The North Texas Food Bank is a Dallas nonprofit hunger relief organization that distributes donated, purchased, and prepared foods through a network of more than 250 partner agencies in 13 counties.

Jesse spent his time collecting and sorting canned goods and other food products, putting them inside boxes, taping and getting them ready to be shipped.

Jesse and his fiance spent several hours at the food bank.

The star smiled several times for the camera, apparently enjoying helping out a worthy cause. 

It appears helping the less fortunate is important to Jesse and his fiance as he posted a plea for others to help on Instagram saying:

Meanwhile, Jesse and 28-year-old Cara are often seen out together.

They started dating in 2009 and had been living together for three years prior to Jesse's proposal last year.

 'I wouldn’t say it was love at first sight,' Jesse previously told YourTango.com.

'It was more of a slow burn, which I think is a better start for a relationship. I think if it comes on fast and furious, it generally fizzles out just as fast. We were slow and steady.'

Cara chimed in: 'We took the time to get to know each other. We’ve known each other for like 10 years.'

Jesse is best known as Eva Longoria's toyboy on the television show Desperate Housewives.

My favorite young actor by far. He looks very much like me. I just have a more Greek-profile nose. The rest of the face is virtually equivalent -- teeth, eyebrows, and all. Nothing compares to the sultriness of dark-haired people who tan beautifully in the sun. However, unlike some French, I wouldn't callously refer to those less fortunate in this department as 'roast beef'. Whether it's Antonio Banderas, Raquel Welch, or Britain's own Will Jamieson, the appeal is endless, genderless, and ageless.
