Drawn from many homeworlds and species, Rebel troopers were the Alliance's front-line soldiers in the war against the Empire. They defended the Alliance's leaders on countless worlds and during many operations, changing uniforms and tactics to meet each challenge.

The Rebels tried to avoid all-out battles with more powerful Imperial troops, preferring hit-and-run raids. But sometimes such fights couldn't be avoided -- and Rebel troopers were prepared to sacrifice their lives for the Alliance's cause.
tauntaun
Rebel troopers tamed Hoth's native tauntauns, using the smelly, slow lizards as mounts for recon missions and patrols in the icy wastes around Echo Base.
Ewoks
On the Forest Moon of Endor, an Alliance strike team targeted the shield generator for the Death Star. But to destroy the generator, the Rebel troopers needed help from unlikely allies: the furry little warriors known as Ewoks.
Mon Mothma
Rebel troopers ultimately answered to the Alliance's civilian leader, Mon Mothma. Though Mothma wasn't a soldier, the troopers respected her dedication to the Rebel cause and looked to her for leadership in the Galactic Civil War.
