With their matching black coats and trousers and shoes, there was no mistaking the serious nature of Daniel Brühl and Kate Beckinsale's roles as they filmed in Siena, Italy on Thursday night.
The actors were filming a night scene in their roles of documentary maker and investigative journalist for Amanda Knox movie The Face Of An Angel, based on the book Angel Face by Barbie Latza Nadeau.
The 40-year-old actress wore her long glossy brown looks in loose waves around her shoulders, teamed with black coat, skinny jeans boots and bag in the picturesque city.

German-born Daniel, 35, wore a near identical ensemble, but teamed his black coat and trousers with black scarf tied around his neck to keep out the chilly temperatures.
The stars seemed focussed as they shot a night scene, although seemed happy to chat and relax in between takes.
The film documents the frenzy surrounding the case of murdered British student Meredith Kercher.
Thursday's filming was the latest shoot for the stars who were spotted in Tuscany last week shooting day scenes for the Michael Winterbottom directed film.
Based on a real life tale: Kate plays a journalist investigating the tale of Knox's arrest
Serious mode: The actors chatted to each other and even shared a joke in breaks between filming
And...action: An exterior shot shows the actors shooting a walking scene through the street
Kate was seen filming opposite two young actors playing the parts of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito who were accused in 2009 of of murdering Miss Kercher in 2007.
Kate’s role in the movie is based on CNN journalist Barbie Latza Nadeau’s book Angel Face: Sex, Murder and the Inside Story of Amanda Knox.
The Underworld actress has been busy shooting around Italy for the past three weeks and last Tuesday the cast and crew decamped to Tuscany to film some exterior shots.
It was busy day on set as scenes between the actors playing Knox and Sollecito were also seen being filmed.
In a re-enactment of the famous photographs of the then couple, the young actors were seen comforting each other as extras playing policeman and forensics experts search the house behind them.
Fascination: The film explores the frenzy surrounding the 2007 murder of Meredith Kercher
All joking aside: The film is the latest in a line of films based on real life stories starring Daniel
Model Cara Delevingne
is playing a young English student in the movie, with the 21-year-old
expected to fly out to Italy to begin shooting in the coming weeks.
Cara has already had the chance to meet her co-stars Kate and Daniel, after flying into Siena earlier this month for a read-through with Winterbottom.
Kate meanwhile has also thrown herself into the controversial project, even enlisting the expertise of journalist Latza Nadeau.
Whilst on a research trip in Rome, the actress was given a tour of the offices used by the reporter, who has also worked for the Daily Beast, at the foreign press association round the corner from the Trevi fountain.

Media frenzy: The film seeks to focus more on the events that went on in the background of the case, according to reports
Controversy: Amanda Knox's murder conviction was overturned in 2011
The 47-year-old was one of the journalists who followed the case, pushing lawyers for quotes and access to court documents whilst filing copy from the cramped press room.
Latza Nadeau has said that the film based on her book will not be a direct retelling of the Kercher case, recently telling The Telegraph: 'There will be recognisable elements from the Kercher case but the film is more of a mirror of the events that went on in the background – the media frenzy surrounding the story.
The
story sees Bruhl’s Thomas going through a mid-life crisis as he
prepares to make a film about the murder of a British student in
Tuscany.
‘There’s something about her that captivates him,’ Cara has said of her character. ‘It’s very innocent. He’s missing his daughter, and he’s taken by her.’
Knox and Sollecito were jailed for 26 years after being convicted of the murder of Meredith Kercher, who was stabbed to death after being sexually assaulted.
They were later acquitted, but this was overturned by the Italian Supreme Court.
Knox's retrial on the charge of murder began on September 30

Hollywood only exists to make money. If you don't like the film don't go and see it.But you have to question the judgement of the actors taking this on.They thought the Diana movie would be huge box office, but it didn't do a lot for the reputation of the previously faultless Naomi Watts did it?
