Fans of the legendary Wonder Years feel like they grew up with Fred Savage's Kevin Arnold.

Now, at 37, the actor has still got the same baby face but he's already a father-of-three and is getting to enjoy his own slice of marvel at watching his own children grow up.

The young director certainly looked in his element as he made the most of bonding time with his youngest boy on Friday.

Savage, who has directed hit series Modern Family, enjoyed interacting with his one-year-old on the sand as the family enjoyed a Thanksgiving break.

His wife and childhood friend, Jennifer Stone, reclined nearby; the couple's two children Oliver, seven were just out of sight, and five-year-old Lily.

The couple have never released the name of their youngest child, who was born last November making this trip also a birthday celebration.

In real life, Savage ended up with his childhood sweetheart Jennifer Stone.

The two were childhood friends who lost touch when Savage moved to Los Angeles for The Wonder Years.

They were reunited 11 years later at Savage's 22nd birthday party and have been together since.

The couple married in 2004.

It's interesting that Kevin and his childhood sweetheart didn't ended up married in the show, but Fred did marry his childhood sweetheart. Score one for real life.

That was a great TV show. Nice to know he grew up to be one of life's successes. And those having a go about his weight, get a life. Look at yourselves before you criticise others.

Nice to see Fred looking happy and relaxed. Can you imagine the vile weight comments if he was female though?
