They were determined to dazzle on the dancefloor on Saturday night's episode of Strictly Come Dancing.

And Ashley Taylor Dawson and his professional partner Ola Jordan certainly impressed the show's judging panel, Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell and Craig Revel Horwood, with their 'exotic and erotic' rhumba on Musicals Week,

Performing a decidedly sexy routine to A Whole New World from Disney's Aladdin, the Hollyoaks actor flew onto the stage in rather dramatic fashion on a magic carpet.

Showing off his toned and tanned torso in a purple waistcoat and loose-fitting pants, the soap star gave his all as he writhed around on the stage with his foxy partner.

And Ola certainly threw herself into the spirit of the occasion, dressing up as the iconic Jasmine in a skimpy cobalt blue cutaway jumpsuit with a plunging neckline.

Covering up her blonde locks for the night, the professional dancer was virtually unrecognisable in her raven wig as she worked her magic on the dancefloor.

After shaking their thing on the dancefloor, the pair were rewarded with largely positive comments from the judges - and a score of 35.

Bruno gushed: 'So exotic with a touch of the erotic. You frame the object of your desire so well. The chemistry was so good, beautifully done.'

Craig was equally impressed, saying: 'I really and truly loved it'.

Darcey added: 'You told a real story of love and created strong masculine lines. Great control, well done.'

What an entrance! Ashley certainly made sure he enjoyed a dramatic entrance, arriving on a flying carpet to the amazement of the audience

Topping the leaderboard on Saturday night's show was Abbey Clancy and her professional partner Aljaž Skorjanec, who impressed with an energetic 70s-inspired routine to Saturday Night Fever, scoring the first 40 of the series.

Len wowed: 'There's fever in this ballroom! That was great!'

Bruno added: 'Abbey the disco diva! I could not tell the difference between you and the professional girls.'

Craig was equally thrilled: 'I thought that was absolutely amazing.'

Darcey said: 'Mesmerising. You're oozing confidence in the Latin, a five-star routine.'

Move aside, Jasmine! Ola certainly threw herself into the spirit of the occasion, dressing up as the iconic Jasmine in a skimpy cobalt blue cutaway jumpsuit with a plunging neckline

Aladdin and Princess Jasmine getting a little frisky... Just felt a little odd to me. It's like Snow White having fun with the seven dwarfs - makes me cringe. Still, really like this couple. Hope they'll be here for another week.

Ashley has been constantly under marked throughout the series. His Blackpool pasa doble surely deserved a 10!

Patrick has awarded generous marks for weeks - trust the BBC? I think there is an agenda.

So Deborah, what are you saying? You're doing the typical "dog whistle" comment that allows you to get published and that only certain people will hear. Come right out with it and be honest about what you're saying. Then again, that would open you up to being called what you really seem to be, wouldn't it?

Can anybody tell me why Susannah was given a 9 by three judges when she so badly went wrong, do you think it is because she work for the BBC.

Are you joking, Mark has been put through the past few weeks because he is in the tour.
