It can be difficult ageing in the acting world.

But Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery has revealed that when she hit 30, she no longer cared about the prospect of getting older.

The actress, who is now 31, told Britain's InStyle magazine: 'In my twenties I was a bit of a worrier; it bothered me what people thought of me, what job I was doing.

'But the day I hit 30 I didn't give a s**t anymore.'

One reason Michelle doesn't need to worry anymore is because she has a solid and secure job in Downton, in which she plays Lady Mary Crawley.

She said: 'It's a very solid and successful job; it just gives you that sense of security, I guess. I mean, I own a flat now.

'I worked out I moved 16 times from the age of 19, just hopping about from different flats, because I couldn't always afford to stay. It's lovely to feel stability.'

Alongside her interview with InStyle, Michelle posed for a series of stunning pictures for the ethereal shoot.

In one image, Michelle is seen reclining in a white tutu-style dress and leather jacket, while another shows her in a shirt and asymmetric shirt.

And Michelle was keen to add that while she is famous for playing Lady Mary inthe ITV show, she likes to have a bit more fun than her alter-ego in real life - and even enjoys karaoke from time to time.

She said: 'It starts with something like Back to Black.

'Then I will have a drink and it'll be Total Eclipse of the Heart, and by the end of the night I'll be desperately trying to do Whitney Houston, which never goes down very well for anyone!'

I like that she has a classic beauty and doesn't pile on the fake tan, hope she stays natural and doesn't fill her face with Botox

You don't care about aging, yet all of your pictures are photoshopped to a T? Oh okay.

Lol at solid and secure job. It's an ITV tv series after which she'll have to play a character with emotions. I'd be a little worried if I were here and I'd prepare myself financially for it

I hope she's hanging onto some of her money for when the show ends. Just read about a celebrity who has blown through 10 million dollars.

I love her...but I bet she does care. Everyone in the spotlight does.
