His prospects of winning the latest series of The Voice appear to be in pretty good shape, and judging by his toned physique in a new advert the man in question isn’t faring too badly either.

Indeed, Adam Levine features in the new advertising campaign for his debut clothing range, Adam Levine for Kmart – exclusively available from the US chain store.

The ad, released on December 1, sees the Maroon 5 front-man show off his muscular body as he hurriedly dresses following what one assumes to be a night of passion with a mystery female at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.

Adam is filmed fishing for the clothes he probably tore off hours earlier, amongst them a blue shirt that sits in a crumpled heap beneath the sofa.

The aftermath of a wild party are in evidence as he searches from room to room, quietly observing the various balloons strewn about the suite and an empty whiskey glass resting on the vinyl of a record that still spins on a single turntable.

Fully dressed in clothes from his new range, the 34-year-old singer races through the hotel door and into a stairwell – but having forgotten one crucial item, his car-keys, he’s forced to sheepishly return to the suite, where his female friend is waiting.

The new ad, directed by Jonas Akerman and set to Maroon 5 track Love Somebody, marks Adam’s first foray into the competitive world of men’s fashion.

But while the range is aimed at fashion conscious males, he admits he’s never been a follower of passing trends.

He tells People magazine: ‘In a way I'm not into fashion. What I'm trying to do is something that in a lot of ways is the anti-fashion line, and not necessarily based on momentary trends.’

Adam, recently named sexiest man alive by People in their annual poll, has described the collection as ‘basic, simple and timeless,’ and ‘clothes I would definitely have in my closet.’

He added: ‘I kind of love it all. I love the way the leather jacket turned out. It was really simple and cool. I have definitely lined my closets with my stuff.’

Meanwhile the singer and talent show mentor is faring well on the latest series of The Voice.

Team Levine still has three contestants in the mix – Will Champlin, James Wolpert and Tessanne Chin – all vying for this year’s crown.
