Kelly Osbourne livens up her black gown with purple top knot as she joins lovely in lace Maria Menounos at Make-A-Wish gala

Just the night before Kelly Osbourne was rocking a big bouffant 'do at a concert.

The 29-year-old Fashion Police host chose the elegant route as she attended The Wishing Well Winter Gala at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.

Kelly, who was joined at the event by her fiance Matthew Mosshart, wore a relatively plain, clingy black number with sheer sleeves and a short train.

Her saving grace was her dark purple hair, which has been her trademark for three years and was wound into a tight braided knot on top of her head and adorned with evenly cut bangs.

A simple belt and a splattering of rings on her fingers were her only other accessories, if one doesn't count Mosshart.

The vegan baker stayed close to the former reality star except when she posed solo for the cameras.

He was similarly clad in a dark grey suit and black dress shirt, brightening things up thanks to a pair of shiny brown shoes.

The couple, who began dating more than two years and got engaged in July, have been inseparable and on Tuesday attended Beyonce's concert and afterparty together in Los Angeles.

Maria Menounos was a breath of winter air in her black lace-over-white strapless frock.

The Access Hollywood correspondent and sometime wrestler added a black clutch and peep-toe black heels.

Maria took to Twitter to share her evening, writing: 'Presented a well deserved award to @childrensla at the Make-A-Wish "The Wishing Well Winter Gala."'

She added a 'thanks for dressing me' to Romona Keveza for the fetching frock and Jimmy Choo for lending her the fabulous shoes.

The event served to honour those in the community who have helped change children's lives including Kobe Bryant and hotelier Sam Nazarian.

Others attending the event included Bill Rancic and his very slender wife Giuliana, who wore a slinky black jumpsuit accessorised with a heavy necklace.

Lance Bass was a festive sight in a dark suit with a red checked shirt.
