Two Philadelphia women evidently unfamiliar with the true meaning of Christmas have been caught on camera brawling during a tree lighting ceremony.

The unnamed spectators came to blows during the Philadelphia City Hall Christmas tree lighting ceremony that was held in Love Park last night.

Television news crews captured the fracas as Mayor Michael Nutter and other city dignitaries looked on.

Neither woman was charged with a crime after several others in the crowd stepped in to separate the women.

The ceremony featuring a live performance by the cast of the Jersey Boys musical continued as scheduled after the fight ended, CBS Philly reported.

According to reports, the skirmish took place as a pair of pugnacious ladies were jostling for a better view of the 38-foot-tall artificial tree sparkling with 6,000 LED light.

Philadelphia Police officers had to get involved and pull the combatants apart to prevent the hostilities from escalating and further.

Any kind of gathering brings out their natural aggressive tendencies. It could be a wedding, child's birthday party, funeral, etc. I have read of violence at all of the listed gatherings of these types.

Philly is a rough town, Democrat, Liberal, and kind of 'Duhhh'. The 'Brotherly Love' part comes from Quaker heritage which is definitely in the minority. There are safer places to visit in America if you are coming here from the UK.
