She is a veteran darling of the fashion and art world.

So of course Elle Macpherson was in Miami to see in the city's annual art and culture extravaganza, Art Basel.

The 49-year-old Australian supermodel was an artwork herself in head-to-toe white as she strode out of the celebrity-studded event by the side of her husband, Jeffrey Soffer on Thursday.

Elle's colour pick of the day was clearly white, and it was a flattering decision indeed.

She hugged her svelte figure with a form-fitting white mini dress, long enough to be elegant and short enough to show off her impeccable long legs that helped make her a household name.

She pounded the pavement with utter class in white patent leather ankle booties and snuggled a white clutch bag under her arm.

The Fashion star producer and host shielded her eyes with a chic, oversized pair of sunglasses and allowed her signature long brunette tresses to fall naturally about her shoulders and frame her award winning face.

Elle flashed that killer smile for the shutterbugs, drawing slack-jawed, bug-eyed glances from onlookers left, right and centre.

She even put a few of her well-learned supermodel poses to work, arching her back and throwing gorgeous gazes in all the right directions as she was photographed.

Her husband Jeffrey scrubbed up rather nicely alongside his picturesque wife too - no easy feat - in elegant slacks and a crisp white unbuttoned shirt beneath a gentlemanly beige blazer.

The happy couple have only been married since this year.

While an exact date has never been confirmed, People magazine claim the couple married ‘around mid-July' at the Laucala Resort on the picturesque island of Fiji during a ceremony attended by a 15 guests.

This is such a joyful time for Elle and Jeff,' a source told Australian magazine WHO. 'They are both thrilled.

'Jeff's really normal and a relaxed kind of person,' a family friend added. 'In that way, actually, he's almost Australian. (The family) think he's great.'

The couple originally enjoyed a three-year relationship before splitting in 2012, but reunited following a helicopter accident in the Bahamas that left Jeffery hospitalised after undergoing surgery for a fractured vertebrae.

Elle has two sons, Aurelius and 15-year-old Flynn, from a previous relationship with businessman Arpad Busson.
