John Collins Bossidy (1860–1928) was an American graduate of Harvard College who, at a 1910 dinner, offered a toast famously poking fun at Boston's "Brahmins":
- And this is good old Boston,
The home of the bean and the cod.
Where the Lowells talk only to Cabots,
And the Cabots talk only to God.- A toast given at Holy Cross College alumni dinner in 1910. McPhee, John. Giving Good Weight. p. 163.
