She caused shock waves across the world when she suggestively Twerked up against married Robin Thicke at this year's MTV Video Music Awards during a performance of his hit song Blurred Lines.

And on Friday night, Miley Cyrus was once again reunited with the RnB singer at the KIIS FM Jingle Ball.

However, this time the 36-year-old father-of-one kept his distance, in what can only be described as an awkward encounter backstage at the event, held at the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles.

The body language between the pair between the duo was undeniable, and in very stark contrast to that fateful night several weeks ago.

Both singers stood quite far apart, with their hands firmly tucked into the back of their outfits.

Putting on a happy face for the cameras, the duo also appeared to be forcing their smiles.

This time Miley was relatively covered up, wearing a black maxi skirt and a halterneck crop top that showed off her toned abs.

Meanwhile Robin was dressed in one of his signature flamboyant suits, featuring an embroidered black jacket and matching trousers teamed with a black shirt.

The meeting was a far cry different from back in October when Miley stripped down to a latex bra and gyrated against the singer at the VMAs.

Following the performance, the former Hannah Montana star attracted considerable criticism and backlash, with many saying she took things too far.

But it certainly doesn't appear to have affected Miley, in fact she chose another victim to Twerk upon at the annual Jingle Ball on Friday night.

With nothing kept sacred, she gyrated against a man dressed as Santa.

Opting for a typically scantily-clad ensemble for the occasion, the Wrecking Ball singer showed off her svelte physique in a pair of eye-popping high-cut sequin pants and a matching scarlet crop top, which she teamed with towering patent boots.

But it would seem she wasn't leading Santa astray too much, as the usually cuddly character showed off his rebellious side by swigging from a bottle of liquor and wearing wonky sunglasses.

Once again, the former child star was joined at her performance by a latex-clad female dwarf, and she certainly didn't hold back as she groped her breasts for all to see.

Miley completed skimpy festive ensemble with a pair of furry white cuffs, while poking fun at the Chanel handbag she pulled a joint out of at last month's European Music Awards by wearing an oversized fur version throughout her performance.

Following their infamous VMAs performance in October Robin admitted that he thought his routine with Miley was 'fun' rather than 'sexy'.

'I just said, I don't care, let's entertain the people. Let's give them something they're not ready for, let's make them talk,' he told Vanity Fair.

But later he suddenly changed his story around, or talk show queen Oprah Winfrey got him all tongue tied during an interview for her TV series Oprah's Next Chapter.

The 36-year-old claimed he wasn't aware of Miley's raunchy antics during the show.

'You didn't think of it as sexual?' the 59-year-old media mogul probed.

'Well, I was on stage, I didn’t see it, you know,' Robin responded.

'So to me, I’m walking out towards Miley, I’m not thinking "sex," I’m thinking "fun," the Blurred Lines singer explained.

Curious how that could even be possible, Oprah - who physically displayed her distaste for the situation - interrupted, 'But she was twerking up against your kahoonas.'

'But you have to remember I'm singing my butt of, so I'm sitting there, I'm looking up at the sky, I'm singin,' Robin quipped.

'I'm not really paying attention to all that. That's on her,' he laughed.

'People ask me, "Do you twerk?"

'I’m like, "Listen, I’m the twerkee. I’m twerked upon. I don’t twerk myself, okay? I’m just twerked upon."

But that wasn't what the musician told Vanity Fair.

'They told me [beforehand] that Miley's going to take her clothes off and dance around and she might bend over,' he said.

He went on to say that his goal was to entertain the audience, surprise them and get people talking.

In fact the singer - who's been married to Paula Patton for eight years - admitted the performance has put him on the map.

'Everybody knows who I am now because I let Miley Cyrus twerk in front of me on the MTV awards,' he said.

'I spent my whole career playing it safe, being a gentleman, never doing anything controversial,' he added.

their performance actually ruined the so called song of the summer for me. I don't hear it in the same fun kittle catchy way that I did. as for robin I even liked him prior to it...now he just seems a bit odd.
